Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
No Canyon red sucessor ...
Maybe they’ll come up with a limited edition run in the future. Remember they have that sunset color that they used on the R3X’s side mirrors?

Without actually having seen these colors applied in person, here's my personal speculative color tier list:

S-Tier
Borealis

A-Tier
Forest Green
Launch Green

B-Tier?
Catalina Cove

....

F-Tier
Half Moon Grey
Glacier White
Midnight
Esker Silver

I'm curious to see what Cataline Cove will end up being, might bump it up to A-tier depending on what's revealed.
Teal is an S tier color

Gotta luv that Rivian color palate or lack there of...

4 monochromes, 2 greens, 1 undetermined but probably grayge, and 1 purple.
Really, @mkg3, you can't wait 2 days to see the actual colors you're taking a big dump on and accusing Rivian of bad color choices?
Gemini AI says 6-10 color choices are typical for new vehicles; Tesla even now offers only 6 Model Y colors, and only one (red) is remotely flashy.

Personally, I saw Launch Green in the list and stopped caring what the rest of the colors turn out to be; they have already included the best possible color:clap: .

Borealis makes no sense on the R2. They just devalued the quad/tri motor R1. Plus the take rate will be so low.
I can see why they brought back the Launch Green since that was probably the best color on the R1. But yeah, what’s happened to Rivian Green. That looked like a nice color too.
When the R2 was revealed they said the white on the prototype was not Glacier White but like they changed it back.
I’m most interested to see Catalina Cove if it ends up being a shade of blue. The Half Moon Grey is probably that dark grey the recent prototypes have been seen in.

No offense, but this makes little to no sense. In order to get a great color, I have to buy bigger model that doesn't fit my needs? Just my two cents.
I hope it stays by the time they hit our reservation number. R2 in Borealis is just perfect?

No. No we don't have to love. Why can the 1950s cars look so cool in vibrant colors but we need 8 shades of a bad black and white movie????

Slightly off-topic, but I've been around these parts for "a while" now and this is the first post I recall seeing where it says a moderator edited it to include the rivianforums watermark on the images. Personally, I find it off-putting - as though they're claiming to have scooped the story instead of it actually being the OP who brought us this great info.

Perhaps we all agreed to a TOS by posting here that they own all our uploads, pictures, posts, and thoughts. I appreciate this gathering place and the resulting discussions, so it's not gonna be my hill today, I just found it surprising.

Anyway, just my late-night ramblings... It doesn't actually matter.

They also sent an email almost taking full credit for it, and leaving OPs name off it..

... we have the R2 colors for you! Spotted by a Rivian Forums member ...

Not dying on that hill either but rose an eyebrow from me too.
