Ceramic is **** for protection, it just makes cleaning easier, and it doesn't last half as long as they guarantee. I suspect they rely on a) you getting used to the reduced cleaning performance over time and not noticing and b) not able to deal with the hassle of making a claim and coming back in for a touch-up. That was me in both cases, and the paint has chips and swirls and scratches from halfway through its 5 year warranty, but live too far from the detailer to get it fixed.I am hearing you say you would do both.
But if you would only do one it would be PPF for protection, but it does not clean as well as a ceramic coated auto does?
Are these "heard you say" correct?
Now, I'd do PPF, and probably ceramic once on the glass since sap is sticky, but I also never mind the scrubbing exercise and won't do it on the PPF–I just want to have some protection from my own heavy handed scrubbing. Ceramic needs to be reapplied often, and that seems as much work as not having it.
