Hyundai is a massive company. It sold over 4 million cars in 2025. You expect one customer service rep to have power to change its production plans... for just you? C'mon.
No. I expect them to 1) anticipate needs and plan for them (spare parts), and 2) if providing an individual to guide the repair process to have a clue what’s going on. She didn’t. And as I said, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one waiting months. Obviously she wouldn’t be changing production plans. But, she could have argued for a temporary replacement for me. BMW had some similar issues. They provided loaners to those affected. In summary, I paid close to $60k for a new car that suffered $12k of damage in a 5 or so mph parking lot accident that took 7 months to repair. You probably have different expectations, but for me, that wasn’t good enough. So, I voted with my pocketbook.

Iirc, there have also been claims that they "steal" articles from other sites. Sort of the same thing that got that other Rivian site ("Club Rivian") shut down. #shrug 🤷

It's not stealing. It's aggregating. ;) /s

In all seriousness, if sources are not cited (and with link-back), it's straight up theft.

My insurance companies jacked my rates also. I kept changing insurance companies every time they Jacked my rates again on my F150. I was paying double what I was paying 3 or 4 years earlier. After changing insurance like 4 times I got a great rate from Progressive. They did raise my rate again this year but not a lot. I think I am paying around $60 a month. It pays off to shop around and show them you are willing to drop them if they change too much. I anticipate my insurance doubling with the R2. No one should be paying $200+ a month for insurance unless you have bad credit and accidents and a big claim history.
I just leased a Model 3 for my daughter (17 years olden accidents) My insurance went up $750/month. That was Nationwide. Gieco was $2 cheaper. I almost returned the car.

True. That said, if one thinks about it, the labor to fix $30K vehicle is the same is fixing $200K vehicle, in terms of removing a dent. What is different is the parts costs and paint process.

Frankly, shops charge more for expensive vehicles because they can. Its all the processes, prep and finishes that lets them drive up the costs.

The original Carscoop story's vehicle probably could have been fixed at a much lower cost using a good paintless dent repair (PDR). I've seen worse fixed with PDR.
Well I must say depending on the high end car depends on what training is expected of their personnel. My friend worked as a mechanic for Mercedes back in the day. He had to take special classes and was expected to work cleanly. No grease on his uniform etc. Porche was even more expensive to be a mechanic. You had higher level classes. As the richer the car manufacturer were so was what a mechanic and rest of the personnel had to learn. Special courses just for them. A Honda mechanic was No where near the training of your higher end mechanics.
