My lease on my R1T Dual Performance is ending soon, and I plan to upgrade to a Gen 2 Tri. I have a couple questions for those that have already done it.
- One thing I love about my truck is when I'm in Enhanced Cruise the truck doesn’t hound me to keep my eyes on the road nearly as frequently as some other cars and trucks do. Does the Gen 2 carry this feature over?
- Now an item I don't really like. When the wipers on my Gen 1 are on, the passenger wiper blade completes its upward cycle directly in front of the driver. Does the Gen 2 have the same wiper pattern?
- Lastly, when I'm listening to the radio (done infrequently, but either way) it struggles mightily with weaker signals, resulting in the volume constantly going up and down (not the setting, the actual heard volume). I have all the sound enhancements turned off. Does the Gen 2 do better with the radio?

Any other nuances other than the known changes I should be aware of?

Thank you!

We just got a new tri a couple months ago. For the eyes on the road senser I think it is less aggressive then Gen1 was with hands on the wheel. For the wipers I asked my wife and she thinks it is the same. I do not listen to the radio except during football season if the Vikings are playing so no idea about that. We had the Meridan sound system in our last Rivian so this seems to be a small step down. You will notice a huge difference in camera clarity. I think the frunk is not quite as deep.

Thank you Doug! I appreciate the responses. I'm looking forward to the expanded list of roads the enhanced cruise works on as well.

You probably know this but it is a subscription model for the enhanced cruise. They charge 2500 one time or 50 a month. It does work well in our area. We have a lot of rural highway so sometimes it is nice to just let the truck drive itself.

It doesn't hound you because either the camera doesn't do anything in gen1 or they stopped installing it when they realized their original tech wouldn't reach L3 autonomy.

Gen2 will definitely hound you about eyes, it's pretty good at seeing them, even if you're looking at the main display to change music.
