Spotted: Irvine, CA RAN chargers going up at Tustin Marketplace

The RAN map shows a future charger near the Irvine Spectrum . But some plans I’ve seen put it closer to the I5 and Jamboree.

Well what’s this I see being built today? Is this a new RAN? The charger shape looks right for new chargers. Nothing on signs yet but it looks like it’s nearly complete! Sorta makes sense with Rivian’s recent messages about new RANS coming soon. This us about a mile fron Rivian HQ. With easy access fron I5 and lots of good places nearby should be very useful to travelers. I5 just off at Jamboree

The portion of the mall (Tustin Marketplace) it's in is pretty dead. Majority of the active mall is on the other side of the street. REI, In-n-Out, Best Buy, etc.. There is a small theater on the same side as the RAN though. I stopped by a couple weeks ago and there was no construction activity, only open trenches where landscaping used to be.

Hope it becomes operational before my referral reward runs out. Have been going to the one in Orange, about 7 miles further from home.

Large group of people working on the chargers and the power supplies. I’d say it operational by June.

Your photos are from the location under construction at I-5 and Jamboree. This is called the Tustin Marketplace.

I’m not sure where your reference to the Irvine Spectrum comes from?

Look at the official RAN map. It shows it at the Spectrum area. I live a mile away from this location. I know it too well

I don’t think so. Caruso’s ´outdoor malls’ are in LA. I think this us an Irvine Company place.

Not at all. This is a Irvine Co. property. Nearly all commercial properties in the OC is Irvine Co.. Irvine RAN was originally planned to be at Spectrum. May still be yet to come… who knows.

Also, Amazon Fresh did not go belly up. Late last year Amazon decided it overlapped their Whole Foods business too much and decided it was redundant. As much as I enjoy convenience of Amazon Fresh, the business case was always suspect.
