Who knows what Rivian considers confidential...
When asked why there are no fuse circuit descriptions (you know... fuse 11 is for headlights, fuse 12 is for seat heater, etc..) or even a mention of the word FUSE in the 400+ page Rivian owners manual an owner was told "that is proprietary...
"improper torque on hub knuckle" doesn't mean the attachment between the two parts is loose. If say for instance the bolts are supposed to be torqued to 100 ft/lbs and they are only torqued to 75 ft/lbs that may still be sufficient to hold the parts together properly.
You need new tires at this...
We have no idea how the OP of that thread tried to acquire it from Rivian, his exact quote was " Believe it or not, Rivian wont sell me one and I have no idea where to find a replacement." You are assuming he called the 800#....
Also, not everyone lives near a SC where they can just drive over...
Thanks for the detailed info, that's how it's supposed to work I guess. But in reality it seems to work differently.
If we start discussing trips to Aruba over dinner and there are phones present.. suddenly our phones are flooded with ads about vacation travel over the next couple of days...
The sad part is, it's not a complex math proof that you need to work your way through to verify it's true, it's a simple one step concept.. but when I mention this simple idea to most people, they just shrug it off.
There was a guy posting here yesterday who said Rivian refused to sell him the custom bolt used to attach the tailgate support cable on his R1T. Really? Why?
They can't claim it's part of the high voltage system or the ADAS, etc.. it's a bolt.
Rivian is 1000% anal retentive when it comes to...
My agent was emphatic that our whole family install that Drive Wise garbage on our phones to get an additional discount on our premiums. We had a family meeting about it, and the vote was a unanimous "no f**king way". When I called our agent back, she found another way to get us the same...
Let's see how flippant they are when it "disassembles" itself with a crew inside :(
At one point they need to be extremely concerned, not making jokes about it when one of their ships (that is supposed to be man rated one day) explodes on ascent.
Local hobby shops usually have small bottles of various chrome paint on hand for model building, specifically for painting the chrome parts of vintage car models. Shake it real well before using...
^ That's only for L2 (240 volt) charging equipment in Europe (and it's a great idea IMO).
DC fast charging (400+v) cables are often liquid cooled, heavy gauge cables which are permanently attached to the cabinets.
Rivian won't sell you a bolt? Wow!!
Anyway, remove the existing one from the other side, bring it to you closest hardware store and match it up with a good quality metric equivalent. You may need to put a lock nut up against the tailgate side to keep the cable eye from binding and to lock the...
I 100% agree with you here.. our companies have been terrible to not just us, but our allies around the world when it comes to invasive software.
But, our commercial software has been released by commercial interests and has always been in service of somehow adding to their own bottom line...
If you believe using forced labor (your "free" citizens, not convicted criminals) during peacetime to build your products to sell in a world marketplace is "doing it better", well... I just have no reply that will change that mindset.
As much as it pains me to agree with the government... how could you ever guarantee the Chinese government couldn't just shut them all down some day as part of some coordinated cyber attack? You can not guarantee that. And, if history is any teacher, just look at the idiots here in the US...
No way for US based auto makers to compete with a government sponsored auto maker who does not have to pay for labor force and gets "insider" pricing on materials (if they even pay for materials at all).
How can any auto maker produce and make a profit on an $12K (retail) EV and pay their labor...
When you build something based off style alone, damn the consequences... that's what you get, a flawed product. They should have just kept it a Concept Vehicle like every auto manufacturer has done for 100 years with their 'form over function" creations that can/have been launchpads for new tech...
