I'm confused. RJ, the world's smartest, most humble and nicest man, has repeatedly said that all the noise about Rivian not supporting CarPlay is overblown and that we don't need it. And as a Rivian fan boy (and owner) I believe everything he says, why on earth would anyone go to all this...
No one is saying Rivian is forcing them to text. What they're saying is they're accustomed to doing it in other vehicles and they're frustrated they can't do it in a Rivian.
They also use Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps and a host of other apps that they also miss. This is SUCH a devise...
When it's all said and done, Rivian denies its customers choice with their decision to not support CarPlay. The arguments of why we should or shouldn't need CarPlay will NEVER end because Rivian will never be able to provide an equal amount of CONTENT. No way, no how. And much of the content...
I love that this wonāt die. If Rivian had the CONTENT of CarPlay, this would have died long ago. But they donāt and they never will. RJās stubborn insistence on recreating the wheel is just astounding to me. His arrogance is even more astounding.
I donāt care who the recipient is, I donāt see this being a function of government to prop up a private entity, especially a government that is so hopelessly over extended already.
Not if your phone must first be unlocked to activate Siri. And that means you have to pick up the phone which is the whole point of hands free texting. Many of us have corporate profiles on our phones that restrict certain features, such as the ability to use Siri with a locked phone.
āYou and RJ have repeatedly said that itās critically important to have vertical integration and control with the UI. Given that Apple Music is the only meaningful new app since the R1 was released and itās still unstable after 4 updates, how do you respond to increasingly frustrated Rivian...
Yeah, these manufacturers are all wrong.

Except just the opposite is true and even Lucid relented a year ago and offers CarPlay wired and wireless. And Iāll bet good money that GM retreats on their decision to abandon it. While nearly...
So this will be what, the fourth attempt to get Apple Music to a stable point? And still no voice texting. I love my truck but come on Rivian, youāre in over your head when it comes to software.
Absolutely silly nonsense given all of the core functions our vehicles still lack. I'm sure Wassym loves the fact that so many are infatuated with this to distract from the many things he's failed to deliver. Sure, we can't safely voice text, use Alexa to control Apple Music and our...
