It's odd it gets worse over time, and then you get new half shafts and it gets worse still. I would think that brand new half shafts would "reset" the issue for a couple thousand miles. Makes sense that the lube breaks down over time, but if so wouldn't brand new, freshly greased half shafts...
They replaced the half-shafts on my 2023 R1T and the rattling noise only got worse. I don't really get it. If its the source of the ever-worsening sound, then why don't brand new parts help?
I bet that sounds great! Looks like a really clean install, too. What happens with the over-the-air updates that Rivian pushes? I know they are always messing with the audio, and I worried about going aftermarket because of this.
On my Gen2 Premium audio R1T, there is zero sound coming from the 4 roof speakers. I can put my ear right up to them...nothing. Are you supposed to hear them?
I love my new Gen2 (came from a Gen1 quad) but man, this sound system is the worst car audio I've ever heard. My Gen1 with the Rivian...
Rivian would make a repurchase offer considering original purchase price, mileage, interest paid over life of loan, and any permanent mods (such as PPF or tint, so long as you have receipts). In my experience, Rivian is very fair, helpful, and professional in this process.
I can't say that...
This all echoes my experience with my repurchased R1T. I never got a real diagnosis about what the problem was. They just threw parts at it over the course of 9 SC visits. Nothing fixed the problems. I'm sure I got stuff replaced that wasn't even faulty. Can't be cost effective for Rivian to...
I went over some very bumpy terrain in a G2 Tri at low speeds and it was whisper quiet. A slight center dash rattle, but that's it.
Also, another funny twist to this. Seattle Service Center consistently acts like they have never heard of, or had complaints about suspension rattle. They just...
Very good condition. Website says compatible with both Gen1 & 2. Worked great on my Gen1. Prefer local to Tacoma/South Sound. Asking $800.

That's a good point. I think there is a whole range of noise in these vehicles. All likely have some. That sets the bar for "quiet." Then you have a scale of extremes.
The noise you hear...is it that driver's side rattle/clatter? Distinct from the jounce squeak?
They did buy back my truck. I am still undecided on what to do. I'm really trying to answer some of these questions about the Gen2 suspension.
If I could ensure getting one of these "quiet" Gen2 Trimax R1Ts that I hear exist in the wild, I would jump at it. For now, they seem more elusive...
I'd like to hear it.
Also, that's exactly what they did with mine. They bought the truck back.
You've hit the exact root of the problem: failure to diagnose the issue properly. It's like they are playing darts blindfolded, hoping to hit the target. That's not good for you. It's not good...
