Itās rare that I ever run in to a person ICEing a charger while theyāre at their vehicle.
The few times I have, Iāve very politely mentioned that these are for electric vehicles to charge, donāt demand they move (and only even ask if all other stalls are full.)
Today at a RAN, a Sprinter...
I've tried resetting the vehicle, I've tried disabling location-based, letting the vehicle sleep, turning location-based back on. No go. I can still tap the icon on the center screen and open/close normally, but the auto-prompt that let me press the steering wheel button to do it is gone.

I'll be road tripping through the area this weekend, and would love to stop and take a look at the R2/R3, but with the Rivian Seattle Space being in the University District, I can't imagine parking is abundant. Anyone local know if there's *anywhere* to park an R1T towing a small teardrop in the...
Had the dreaded early 12V failure on my R1T. It was drivable, but it did warn to plug it in at every opportunity until getting the 12V replaced (which I did.)
That has me wondering though. I have a big old lead-acid jump box + air compressor I've had since my old diesel pickup. It's in the...
(R-3X, the driver of the "ship" you were in on the Star Tours motion-control ride as Disney. Now the DJ in the cantina at Galaxy's Edge; voiced by the late-great Paul Reubens.)
Summary: The new and improved Tow Mode was applied in the middle of my trip. It was useful in some ways, needs serious improvement in others. No "left me stranded" charging problems, but EA did have one *MAJOR* foul-up that wasted half a day. The West Coast is pretty great for charging...
On Thursday, I started the āNorthwardā return trip home with my trailer. First stop, the EA at the Tucson (AZ) Outlet Mall. Charged there successfully on the Southbound portion of the trip, albeit at degraded charging speeds.
Plugged in, swiped in the app to start the charge, immediately got...
Planning a trip to The Dalles this last weekend, I noticed a new RAN located there! Yay! I'd be towing my trailer, so I'd be low on charge, and wanted extra charge to run the trailer over the weekend. Showed up, and the trailer spot is a back-in. Not only is it a back-in, it's one with a barrier...
Pretty slick place. They have a fun augmented reality way to see an R1T up close - and it is amazingly high detail. I put my face RIGHT up to the steering wheel, and I could have sworn I was looking at a real Rivian steering wheel.
And I don't know if the AR vehicle's navigation system takes...
Okay, the trailer is going to the campground about 100km East of Vancouver, where I'll be staying for four days. But it'll be the first "more than 70% used" tow with it.
It's a 2018 NüCamp T@B 400. Bought it last week, drove 150 miles home with it, using only about 70% to get it home. It...
Took a 3-day-weekend short trip up to Washington State's Olympic Peninsula. Photo above is from a spit of land that acts as a seawall to protect the Port of Port Angeles, Washington from the ocean (or the Straight of Juan de Fuca specifically,) at left is Port Angeles Bay with mainland US...
I just saw multiple owners claim on Reddit that their R1T doesn't have a headrest for the center-rear seat.
Really? Does not everyone know there's a telescoping headrest there?
Well, if you didn't - now you do!
Was driving behind a Range Rover. They have the vehicle name in all caps word mark across the back of the vehicle as individual letter emblems:
R A N G E āā R O V E R
The G was missing.
So it said something appropriate for an R1S to wear exploring Rivian's charging network:
R A N āā E āā R...
Decided to head to the coast this morning, saw in the Rivian app that it showed a new RAN at the Lincoln City outlet mall. Showed 3 stalls.
Showed up in-vehicle navigation, too, so set it.
Got here and there are 3 problems -
1. It directed me to enter the outlet mall parking lot in a...
Edmunds went hog-wild and took both an F-150 Lightning and a Rivian R1T to a sled pull:
100% stock, didn't even air down the tires. Rivian outpulled the Lightning, but fell short of modified conventional pickups. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to beat them - the sled weighs ~34,000 pounds...
