It is possible the limited regen isn't because the battery is cold, but rather, the battery can only charge so fast with regen, so it might be limiting it going down very steep hills to protect the battery.
It does sound like the OP is having a lousy service experience. Here is what I find puzzling about the rant. The OP claims his vehicle has been in service 5 of 13 months. That sounds terrible. And those other service experiences had better communication presumably. But this one had the vehicle...
If the vehicle is not drivable or has a serious issue, they will literally tow you on the same day you report it. The longer wait times are for less urgent issues, and as they build more centers, it has been improving. SoCal was once a total disaster but now they are getting vehicles in and...
150 miles round trip under the worst circumstances where you would get half the normal efficiency (assuming you drive 90mph against a huge headwind), you would still not use up all the range of a max pack.
if you need to, you can charge beyond 80% and run it below 20% if you actually need the...
Scheduled charging was always limited to “saved locations” as far back as I can remember.
I think everyone is contemptuous of the auto suspension for dual motors. But it’s an EPA requirement so we are stuck with it. I too hate it and would prefer to keep it at standard height all the time to...
Creaking was front halfshafts and they did a service campaign where they adding new ting washers and took everything apart and relubed everything. It was unclear whether they replaced the actual axles. The noise is gone, for now.
Had my vehicle at Costa Mesa this week and reported the rear motor clunk. They did a diagnostic, noted that the rear motor needed calibration, which was performed, and it is smoother now, similar to pre 2024.51. You can still feel it engaging but it no longer has the abrupt shove. This seems...
Had my vehicle at Costa Mesa this week and they did both front axles and installed new ting washers. Couldn't tell from the service write up whether they just replaced the washers and regreased everything or actually replaced the axles. In either case, the noise is gone for now.
Honestly if it will capture the Outback crowd, this will be a success. They aren't aiming for hard core off roaders - people who drive Outbacks will find this to be a rocket ship and as long as it does well in the snow, people will buy it due to brand reputation (and its really a Toyota, so...
It is interesting that the extra length is behind the rear axle, which means interior space for passengers will be the same as the BZ4X/Solterra. I was hoping this would be the preview for the upcoming electric Highlander, but I doubt this is it.
This is a situation where you really need to take it to a service center and take the tech for a ride to demonstrate the vibration and harshness. Rivian switched to an AI tool to schedule appts and it is limited in descriptions of problems.
