My experience exactly. Before the last update I NEVER used Sport mode as the ride was just too unacceptable. Tried it after the update and noticed quite a difference. The ride was acceptable on regular roads, still a little jarring on rough roads. It is one of those things that when you feel...
Iāve had my R1T for about a year now. I really like the truck but am disappointed that the plastic trim at the top of the tailgate is so susceptible to nicks and scratches. Because the R1T bed is short, I often end up carrying items like lumber perched on this trim and then pull them out over...
I worried about this too before a trip I took from Florida to Texas. I have an R1T With the air compressor, repair goop, and 22 in sport tires. I was worried more about a nonreparable tire as I had just had a sidewall gouge that forced me to buy a new tire. And while 22 in tires are easier to...
My old school mind mentally likes the idea of a physical key fob, but in practice I donāt use it. I use my phone, with the key card in my wallet for emergencies when the phone stops working (happened twice!). I guess it would be useful for a valet or loaning the vehicle to someone, or if your...
I have a late year 23 R1T and I am not seeing any difference between front and back. As with most cars the paint is not mirror smooth but my Rivian paint quality is about the same as my Audi. Very acceptable, IMO.
No, this is not way more work. It is less work. Someone in the community knows the answer, and no one is forcing you, or anyone else to reply. And if people canāt use the forum to find answers, honestly, what good is the forum anyway? I, myself, access it to learn things, not to bump fists...
Accessing this forum and asking the question IS research. What the OP did was very logical. This isnāt something you find in the ownerās manual or Rivian paperwork.
Like everyone else, my paperwork said 100 but it actually had about 10. I understand 100 miles is the limit for a ānewā vehicle and I believe Rivian is just putting the max in rather than verify actual mileage. This makes some sense since all the buying is done online and Rivian usually needs...
Nope, did not know about car wash mode or thought to look. I donāt read my manual every day and little details read at the start of ownership are sometimes forgotten. Thanks.
Iāve had my 23 R1T for about a year now. Iāve noticed that when washing the truck that the charge port cover opens when the thumb sensor gets hit with the hose. I have to always watch I donāt accidentally spray hose water directly in the L2 port. At first I assumed that was just the way the...
I had mobile service address mine. Apparently it is a known thing with a designated fix. Of course the fix is simply applying some lubricant specified by Rivian to the column. As explained by the tech, the column rubs against something when in the lowest position and moving in or out.
Iām in Florida but I found local shops that say they align Rivians actually canāt do the full job. Specifically, the camber, if I recall correctly. Also, they donāt have the software to do any calibration. The two may be related. If I do an alignment Iāll probably bit the bullet and have...
As others said, you have to be the squeaky wheel. I leased in May 24 on a 23 R1T. Two delays but installed in November only because I insisted no more delays (which they tried to do). BTW, I have Gen 2 and have had no issues with it.
Not to reflame the fires, but I just got Rivianās March newsletter which discussed Rally mode. No mention of any speed limitation and this statement: āRally Mode delivers heightened throttle response and crisper steering on almost any terrain, including ice, mud, dirt, or asphalt.ā For the...
Interesting. I sort of get it that legacy auto makers want to mimic their legacy vehicles. There is brand loyalty out there and they want to keep folks in their comfort zone so they donāt start looking elsewhere. There are also people out there that really like the traditional driving...
Not a perfect solution, but perhaps there is one āusedā, i.e., salvaged that could be installed. Even better, get Rivian to agree to replace with a new part when available. In fact, Rivian may even have some from the vehicles theyāve recaptured that had significant issues. It may take a...
I thought this was a decent article too. But IMO there is another reason Rivian has a tougher path than legacy automakers than just being small. That is learning how to manufacture physical quality. Most legacy car companies have been building cars for many decades and have honed quality inn...
I saw this blurb on All Purpose too, and wondered if this was new to Performance as of this upgrade. BTW I got the email but already have the performance upgrade from the factory so canāt compare to a DM. I guess the Rivian marketers only keyed in on the original specs of the VIN, not how it...
