Is the ride improvement, matrix headlights, and improved cameras worth a $30k differance between a 2023 demo gen 1 Quad large pack with less than 2k miles. You'd still get 5 years of warranty and 58,000 miles left. A comparable new tri- motor. ascend interior, max pack and all the new bits...
Use your brain and think about it from a product pipeline perspective. They just released the tri motor. They have nothing after the quad until mid 2026 with the R2.
They aren’t going to release another model just a few months after the tri motor.
The Quad won’t be released until Q3-Q4 this...
The speakers themselves are OK it's just the sub is basically useless in the R1S...It's noticeably better in the R1T as it's a smaller cabin and the sub is closer to the driver.
I personally would have preferred the 180 kwh pack over the small 3rd row but I don't have a family that needs the 3rd row. You would still have the same storage space (likely) when folding down the 3rd row as you would with the larger battery so it would have been ideal for me. Assuming similar...
R2 isn't meant to be an economy vehicle. Sure they want it to be affordable compared to similar vehicles in the market segment, but they aren't looking for this to be a $25,000 vehicle...
They have said ad nauseam that choice is important and right now there aren't many compelling choices for...
Not sure if it was intentional, I’m guessing so, Maximus is RJ’s son’s name. He said he was very happy about the naming of the next gen R2 motors in the investor day presentation where he mentioned it was his son’s name. This was a 3 hour 45 minute event that can be viewed on YouTube.
I found a reddit post from someone who has done this. Just curious as to how costly it would be to just replace the sub or if there would need to be an amp installed as well. I don't have a ton of experience with Audio.
Reddit post I found:
I cannot tell any difference between my gen 1 and gen 2 efficiency with climate on.
I just got 3.24 mi/kwh on an 18 mile drive speeds ranging from 35-75 mph but average speeds off 60 mph with the AC and cooled seats on.
Here you go…I make this 20 minute drive every day. 52-54 degrees, battery at 72, no climate control on outside of heated seats and steering wheel. Last minute of drive was in a parking lot.
Well that's a big difference....running resistance heat will absolutely drain at least 1/2 a mile per kwh. It's one of the single biggest consumers of energy outside of driving. There's your answer. I just drove my R1T dual motor today and was getting 3-3.5 mi/kwh driving around town with no...
