@risingphoenix - You nailed my thoughts exactly. I think this IS Alex's first rodeo and he really wants to deliver a great product as soon as he can and is learning, the hard and frustrating way, that things outside his control are indeed outside his control and to probably extend his promised...
And we'll finally get those R1S Matchbox cars we've all been waiting for (although 2,000 SF isn't enough room for that unless they're made on 3D printers).
I'm doomed...One of my daughters just lost her phone in a lake while kayaking! My wife will indeed be getting a new phone, but the trickle-down will stop before it gets to me!
Yeah - I think this is actually the first time I've hit this with any of our iPhones. I've gotten the warning with a couple of other apps, but they let me stay on the "old" version that runs on my IOS version. I have a I had hoped to hold out until September when the 17 comes out, but it's not...
Okay - This is a random update to this...I can't use the app to do anything other than unlock the doors and drive the Rivian as noted above.
I installed an "Open Frunk" shortcut on my Apple Watch and, on a whim, decided to try it yesterday walking out the to Rivian with my groceries...
Indeed...My wife agreed that it's time for me to get a new phone. Translated? My wife will get a new iPhone 16Pro, one of my daughters will get her 14Pro, and I'll get a 12, but at least I'll be rolling again with the Rivian.
Anyone else now seeing this?
Yes - I realize it's time for a new phone (I'm rocking an iPhone 10x) because the new Rivian app requires a version of IOS that I can't load on my phone, but I was fine with the limited functionality of the app I had. Why did they need to remove my ability to see...
I'll add to the list of folks sure it was the camp speaker. To be fair, the owner's manual (which we know everyone memorizes before they pick up their Rivian), is pretty explicit:
I love the size of the 22" electric Blackstone. You can get a cheap Kill-O-Watt Meter ($30) to learn how to use the Blackstone without exceeding 1400W (my Bluetti AC180 has a "watts out" function and taught me). It's pretty easy...Just don't crank it from off to 450 degrees all at once! Put...
A couple of months before the COVID shutdown I got pulled over for having an expired registration (by a couple of days). The cop gave me a warning (for which I was quite thankful) and when I asked how he knew it was expired (PA gave up stickers on the plates before then) he explained that his...
When my R1S Quad was in for A/C service they gave us a loaner, but no fob. My wife and I had to share one keycard (but it did get us much better at using the keycard).
I got pulled over doing 81 in a 55 zone and the lousy Rivian paperwork actually saved me a bunch...The officer spent 20...
The assembly to the right of the smoker is a very impressive grill with a wheel to raise and lower the grilling surface...
Looks like you could grill a lot of veggies on that puppy...
That inverter is smaller (and much lighter) than my Bluetti AC180 that I use now to get me 1800W output. And thanks for the clarification...V2L is definitely what I'm looking for.
I get it and don't have a use case for true V2H. I referenced V2H only in the sense that it means that the existing charge port is bidirectional and current can be pulled from the battery. That's why the Wrangler Power Box is so appealing, especially if it had an inverter capable of giving us...
I saw that and didn't understand it unless it's Gen2 buyers who assumed it would fit in the bottom of their frunk perfectly (like the Gen1) and then didn't want it when it didn't. It's really well made and has internal straps to ensure that it keeps its shape if, for example, you overload it...
It's frustrating, but the Rivian is VERY particular about which SSDs are compatible, and I'm pretty sure that's your issue. It would be nice to be able to use something you already have, but it probably simply won't work.
This is my kit:
Samsung Drive - $26.99 now
90 Degree Adapter - $9.99...
Ha! Dinner was walking tacos - kept warm in what I thought was the largest crock pot I'd ever seen. Turns out it was a 28 QT electric roasting pan. I'll admit to having a little kitchen gear envy...My wife squashed that idea, reminding me that I didn't need any more kitchen gadgets.
@COdogman...
I bought the BestEvMod Frunk Cooler (by @BestEvMod(AOSK)) soon after we picked up our R1S in 2023. It lives under the frunk divider in case we ever need it. I've used it a number of times, but always loading it from home. Tonight I needed it when we were at a friend's graduation party - It...
Right? RJ has said that all R1's have the ability to do V2H which means that the charge port is bi-directional. An external box like this would give us higher-amperage access to the big truck battery without the need to change our existing charger AND would be useful if we needed to take our...
