I got my first crack (biggest one - top right) on the way home from picking up the R1T in Denver. It was a two hour drive, so I called the insurance company and they authorized a repair at Safelite when I got back in town, so I went directly to their facility and actually got it repaired within...
The thing you have to consider is that every one of those windshield repairs goes down as a claim on your insurance. I was flabbergasted when I changed insurance policies that the new insurance company brought up those minor windshield repairs as "claims" when discussing the price of my new...
If you have a Rivian you are gonna get cracks and chips in the windshield...got a nice star shaped chip on my way home from picking up my R1T. After about the 3rd chip (and fill), I put an Exoshield ($500) and it has been nary a crack since. Although I have heard a few pings on the windshield...
Although I have not had any 12v issues with my R1T over the past 2 years of ownership, I am quite a bit concerned about this serious issue...after all, nothing worse than showing up to a dead car. Thinking this over and watching some videos, I was wondering if it would be wise to carry portable...
Due to a couple of windshield repairs from tiny pebbles I could barely even hear and forum comments that a windshield replacement had to be done at the service center (an all day affair since I live 120 mi away), I decided to put an exoshield on. The cost was $500, but I would have to say I am...
The rise of Trump and his incoming administration will certainly delay the evolution of mankind to cleaner methods of travel, but the evolution to EV's is inevitable as we continue to see clear evidence of climate change and as the ever dwindling petroleum costs increase. The rest of the world...
The convenience button for the garage dood on the steering wheel magically showed back up this weekend...hadn't done the reboot yet. While I know there is a garage door button on the touchscreen, I really liked the convenience of the steering wheel button. Glad to have it back!
Just noticed that the last update (the Halloween Update) removed my convenience button on the steering wheel for the garage door. Does anyone know how to bring that back online...can't seem to figure it out myself. Also, with the launch of the Connect+ program ($149 annually), it would seem...
Thanks to everyone for their background info. Really just received the adapter and haven't used it yet. Forgot about the two-way communication between the car and the charging stations! Look forward to using it.
Sorry to hear that. Isn't the window protective film removeable? I would imagine that the repair shop could just cut a circle around the crack and remove the film just over the crack with a straight razor...and a bit of soapy water. Might cost a little bit more, but they should be able to do...
I literally got a crack in my windshield driving my R1T home after picking it up in Denver. Luckily, I drove directly to Safelite and had it filled. Within the next 6 months I got two more small cracks from rocks that were so small they were barely audible. Luckily, both were not on on the...
As the older, less adaptable generation, rides off into the Sunset, I really don't think the younger drivers will have any issues with the controls and will better appreciate the tech improvements that come along with it. My R1T has been software updated many times and each time it has improved...
I agree the R1T's windshield chips and cracks way too easily. I literally got a chip in the windshield after picking up my R1T in Denver and driving home in 2022. After that, I absolutely noticed that the windshield would chip from even the faintest sound of something hitting it...having...
It seemed to connect easily early on, then became a bit more difficult, now it takes about 5-10 min to connect (pairing, unpairing). When you do finally get it to work, it is an awesome speaker. Use it when rotating tires in the garage, working on home projects, etc. Have not seen it...
