  1. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

Let me get back to a PC and I'll post them. Have links to the tires just outside that screen shot. You can't shave 10lbs of tread off a tire and still have it be usable. That variation is well with the noise of production tolerances.
  2. 2025.18.01 installing! Have you received the update?

Have you checked out ElectraFi? it can do all these things and more. Totally worth the $5/mo to see ALL the data......If you're a data nerd like me :D It does things like this:
  3. Gen 2 Max Pack Fast Charging Speed with 2025.18.01 Update

Area under the curve is -quite literally- what you are measuring. A taller and or "fatter" curve will deliver more energy in less time. Y-axis is kW (power), X-axis is hrs (time). Energy is defined as power * time (kWh). The curve has no option but to tell the story completely, it's the...
  4. Is Charging R1S Overnight Required or Optional?

I 100% agree with the part about having L2 charging at home. The rental thing could be circumstantial, and not financially driven, so I'll glaze over that. I'm in a rental property, and did not have 220V charging when I bought my Rivian. I got a '24 R1T with the Large Pack and 20in AT's. My...
  5. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

Oh I agree and get it. There are a plethora of things to looks at beyond just mass. however, it should be a pretty good indicator of of several of the other things you mention though as mass is likely very closely linked to stiffness in this case, and stiffness will drive a lot of the other...
  6. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

I've started putting together a weight analysis on these wheel/tire packages. The Michelins and the Continentals are by far the heaviest around. but the Nokians are up there as well. I'm really leaning towards the Atomic wheels + Goodyear setup. More expensive to also buy wheels, but makes...
  7. Could we always pin 5 quick launch icons ?

I just got my truck in September of '24. So like 9mo ago. I would have sworn the guide told me that only 4 were allowed to be pinned. Just added a 5th one a few weeks ago and had the same thought.
  8. Be careful using “Prepare for fast charging”

Anecdotally, I was watching the RIDE diagnostic menus this winter, and 14degF is where "fast charging" also seemed to pick up and take off. I've seen it as low as 2degF, but didn't have any driving performance issues, only charging slow downs. Wonder what's magical about that number for Rivian?!?
  9. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

Yea, I get the engineering behind it. In particular giving the vehicles dampers more control authority over suspension movement, as well as the reduction of rotational inertia. Both of those should result in better accel/decel, as well as improved ride characteristics. Every time I've added...
  10. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

This is the first time I've seen this tire on a Rivian. Are these yours? How do you like them? I had the Terrain Contact AT's on my Sierra and really really liked them. They were smooth, quite, and balanced easily. I'm torn on them because I want to preserve the 3PMS rating (because I live in...
  11. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

Great feedback; thank you. I recently had the service loaner while my t was in service. Had the 22in sport wheel package on it, and it rode SOOOO much nicer than my 20in AT package rides. I got to investigating and found that the 22's are almost 10lb lighter than the 20in AT setup. In that...
  12. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

Thanks for the input. I read through that thread the other day, lots of great info in there. I've heard good things about the Goodyears, and saw you were involved with testing/design of them. That's pretty reassuring. I really like the premise of a much lighter wheel/tire package and have had...
  13. New Tire Recs - Analysis Paralysis

I really like that site. Found it awhile back while researching. You run a set of Atomic Wheels with Nokians right? How did you like the wheel upgrade? Any noticeable ride/driving characteristic changes? I'm leaning towards getting a set of Atomic 20in wheels with the Goodyear AT's. Will save...
  14. Quad Motor Rivian R1 with NACS Gen 2 Teaser (MKBHD)

Goofball in charge fired the staff at one point. Then almost immediately realized that was a bad idea. Most of the existing staff had moved along to other positions (as high performers with good resumes do), and they had to rebuild the teams. I'm guessing that slowed it down considerably...
  15. Quad Motor Rivian R1 with NACS Gen 2 Teaser (MKBHD)

Mind isn't made up. I'm looking for reasons to think one is better than the other. I really give zero craps what connector is on the vehicle. Lots of people make a really big fuss over moving to NACS over CCS, and I just don't get it. So I'm trying to learn something. Maybe I'm missing something...
  16. EV charger - cable management system?

I went a similar route with this setup. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKZBBTXX Hold the connector off the floor and the cable loops over the top. Works like a champ. They sell them separate from the bracket to hold the mobile charger if you don't need/want that part.
  17. Quad Motor Rivian R1 with NACS Gen 2 Teaser (MKBHD)

1 - maybe, why does this matter? We haven't hidden gas flaps since the 60's. 2 - subjective at best 3 - meh, again why does it matter? 4 - Rivian already has this with the CCS, I don't see a change here. What else ya got to work towards "far superior"? I'm all ears.
  18. Quad Motor Rivian R1 with NACS Gen 2 Teaser (MKBHD)

How is NACS " far superior" as compared to CCS?
  19. Quad Motor Rivian R1 with NACS Gen 2 Teaser (MKBHD)

110% agree with this. The connector has such a small impact on any level of ownership. It has ZERO impact on vehicle purchase or charging behavior with the Rivian. I carry a NACS to CCS adapter already, and the operational and logistical overhead to do that is near zero. I just don't get the hype.
