  1. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

Classic "If I want your opinion I'll give it to you." The purpose of a forum like this is discourse and that includes opinions from ANYONE who cares to comment.
  2. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

You are talking Telsa fanbois BS claiming it's an ignorant study. The Snopes article you reference specifically ends with "Therefore, although this does not mean the data is incorrect, it does mean that ensuring the study's accuracy is not possible at this time."
  3. Automated Settings Macros - Request for Ideas

Above 30 mph, If I slam on the brakes and the front sensors detect a vehicle within 10 feet, fire a sidewinder missle. 💥
  4. 50 Amp extension cord - ok?

And due to the additional heat losses, the net charging rate into the battery will decrease. Minimal, but noticeable.
  5. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

The economic impact to the consumer was definitely there, it was just hidden. All engines designs had to be re-engineered by the manufacturers to harden the exhaust valves and seats to compensate for the lack of lead in the exhaust. Who paid for that? The consumer, in terms of higher vehicle cost.
  6. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

I'm a middle of the road person in this issue and see both sides. Mandating BEVs the way California did was stupid, and has now probably caused more long term damage than good to EV adoption. Other states adopting California's program was simply asinine. There are economic consequences either...
  7. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

The goal is to stop anthropomorphic warming, not cosmological warming. Stopping anthropomorphic warming is not going to trigger an ice age.
  8. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

It was 100% proven, but it’s no longer true because all climate science has been declared invalid by Presidential Orders and the appointed climate experts in the current administration.
  9. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

Declining fertility rate was recently highlight in the news, indirectly claiming it's a crisis... "The world has begun an unprecedented decline in fertility rates," says Dr Natalia Kanem, head of UNFPA. "Most people surveyed want two or more children. Fertility rates are falling in large part...
  10. 50 Amp extension cord - ok?

I would buy or make a high quality cord with industrial Hubbel brand plug/socket (no Chinese crap from Amazon), and I would charge at 40 amps or less to reduce heating risks.
  11. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

Exactly. I'm not dubious of Tesla FSD for me if/when I was using it, because I'm responsible and used it "supervised". My problem is the unacceptable risk, however slight, that it presents to other motorists and pedestrians because some a-hole decides to fall asleep, play video games, or f***...
  12. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

Well, that will never do ... we obviously need legislation to enact a mandatory 20% reduction in human breath CO2.
  13. California's ban on ICE vehicles has been blocked

Yes, BEVs are a “temporary” product until an alternate fuel exists AND infrastructure develops. Just like humans pulling wagons were temporary until horses, horses were temporary until steam, steam was temporary until ICE. Technology moves on, some adopt it earlier than others, and it fades away...
  14. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

100% agree ... and I'll take that as a compliment to my ability to observe the visual facts and logically connect the dots ;). As opposed to the WAG conspiracy theories positing that this was all faked to tarnish Tesla's FSD reputation, or for insurance purposes, or to prove the earth is flat...
  15. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

Did you look at the pictures closely? The left side wheels apeear to be off the ground. Once the car's momentum stopped, the weight/friction on the rail was likely too much to overcome to back out with gravel under the remaining drive wheels. Sounds like you have never gotten a vehicle "high...
  16. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

I didn't mention anything about you exagerating, I mentioned "Elon's legacy" .... unless you are Elon. You're making wild and illogical assumptions. My distrust of FSD in no way implies "that just because FSD is not level 5, it is therefore a catastrophe, a failure." I challenge you find a...
  17. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

That's almost certainly the issue. Here's the view that the camera would have had. The tracks are at the crest of a hill, there's a really good probability that it saw the tracks as the road because it can't see the road over the crest of the hill. Edit: This time of year, the trees straight...
  18. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

My distrust of FSD has nothing to do with liking, loving or hating Tesla or Elon. I work in technology and real-time factory automation and controls. Our company would be sued into oblivion if we released software that put peoples' lives or products at risk the way Tesla FSD and Elon's legacy of...
