This. For gen1 R1s, the ride is rough even with the recent update. Now it’s much better than before, but it comes no where close even a conventional non air suspension in terms of everyday driving ride comfort. For potholed Los Angeles roads, sport mode is difficult to tolerate even on Low Soft...
150 miles round trip under the worst circumstances where you would get half the normal efficiency (assuming you drive 90mph against a huge headwind), you would still not use up all the range of a max pack.
if you need to, you can charge beyond 80% and run it below 20% if you actually need the...
Creaking was front halfshafts and they did a service campaign where they adding new ting washers and took everything apart and relubed everything. It was unclear whether they replaced the actual axles. The noise is gone, for now.
Had my vehicle at Costa Mesa this week and reported the rear motor clunk. They did a diagnostic, noted that the rear motor needed calibration, which was performed, and it is smoother now, similar to pre 2024.51. You can still feel it engaging but it no longer has the abrupt shove. This seems...

The “fix” is Wassim saying they will soon offer a AWD locked option for dual motors. It doesn’t actually fix the rough rear axle engagement. It just prevents the rear motor from turning off, thereby making it smoother but with the downside of a slight range reduction.
I got confused reading this post as I didn't even know there was a screen option to shift into neutral. I've always just pushed up to the first "detent" on the shift stalk.
The stock PDM (from the factory) has five drive modes - AP, snow, sport, all terrain and soft sand. The recent software update added Rally mode. It just looks like you have three now because they’ve added an off road tab for the other three modes. You basically got rally mode for free with the...
if anything, Rivian stands to be “cancelled” as you know who is actively supporting “Tesler.” So paying for the performance upgrade might help keep Rivian afloat just a little bit longer as it weathers out this storm.
