Pretty sure there's no way for the vehicle to know whether it is up to date or not without a cellular connection to the mothership. Maybe try connecting the vehicle to wifi?
Whoops did not see you already did that above. Next step is to call Rivian to ask if they can push an update over Wifi...
Gen1 here. Except for the slimmer taillights on the traffic graphics I noticed no difference for the “improved visualizations”. All vehicles are the same small suv and semi trucks now have a split door on the trailer.
Because not everyone has their phone on them, and this prevents the use of the vehicle using the fob or the keycard by someone who is not the owner - i.e. lending the vehicle to someone or dropping it off for valet parking or a service center visit. You'd have to reminded to turn off this...
So how do you valet the vehicle or leave it at the service center for work to be done? What if the owner forgets to turn off MFA? Is the car undrivable? This feature seems very poorly planned out.
Would one need to disable multifactor authentication if the vehicle is at the service center for repairs ?
What if the vehicle needs to be valet parked?
Yes, it occurs a few minutes after parking the vehicle and blows full blast for maybe 5-10 seconds. This is not a bug. I’m glad they programmed this in.
Yes I think it’s a bug introduced with the most recent 2025.14. A service appt isn’t likely to fix it, Rivian will need to patch it with the next update.
Scheduled charging was always limited to “saved locations” as far back as I can remember.
I think everyone is contemptuous of the auto suspension for dual motors. But it’s an EPA requirement so we are stuck with it. I too hate it and would prefer to keep it at standard height all the time to...
For those who live where the roads are very congested (for example in gridlock southern california), sometimes you have to signal for a long time before there is an opening, and that when the three blink quick signal doesn't really work.
Gen1 doesn’t have auto lane change. The smart turn signal just auto cancels after a lane change. So instead hitting the three blink short push, you hit the normal signal and once you are done switching lanes (manually) it will auto cancel. I doubt it needs a mapped road.
Updated.
Love the smart turn signals.
I can't say I've noticed a ton of difference with the ride. Rivian states improved ride over uneven surfaces, so it implies they soften the anti-roll hydraulics to prevent the side to side rocking that happens when going over speed bumps or pot holes...
Yeah that's what I did and it fixed it. Had to remove the widget, but could not re-add since Rivian was not on the list. Rebooted and then it was available to choose again, and now it works again.
I use the widget to lock the car when I'm hopping into a store or restaurant where its too close...
Noticed after the most recent app update, the Rivian widget is now gone for iOS. I used to swipe to the left screen to lock the car but now I need to use the app.
