  1. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

Capacitor is identical size to battery. That picture is a single battery with capacitor. The difference is the passenger side one on the rear passenger corner with the red rubber. The dual battery model has black there instead of red. So the unit on your passenger side is a capacitor and your...
  2. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

Yeah that makes sense your probably right. Super wished we had a 240v 30a solution but it just sounds like that will be super unlikely.
  3. Phantom / Vampire Drain Solution Works! Using 12v Battery Tender

Yeah thanks I remember reading someone having shipping mode work well. I think there was something done to leave hood proped open to access 12v so I'm not sure what needs to be done if parked in an area you want the vehicle locked.
  4. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

Why would the fuse blow? Id think to work on high voltage could just pull fireman loop. The R1 can charge over 500amps and likely more under full throttle so I wouldn't think the main fuse would blow but yes that would be a mess if it did. Or you mean there's a small ~5-10 amp inverter fuse...
  5. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

I heard the R1 can only export DC so then it must use the larger CCS port instead of j1772? That inverter is 24v and most the solar ones or vehicles ones are all 12v 24v 48v so it might be much more rare to find a 400v one.
  6. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

Yeah agreed on all accounts, V2H is super overrated. All a bunch of $10k+ solutions and their proprietary for individual vehicles so might just need another 10k in 3 years. Requires major custom work to house electrical panels. V2L with a $100 interlock is all that is needed and allows battery...
  7. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

1800 watts at 400v is less than 5 amps so I can't imagine the Rivian wiring would have any issues with that load. Even a huge 7200 watt inverter (30amps at 240volts) would only need 18 amps which is less than standard outlet 12 gauge wire (20 amp circuits) But yeah I kind of doubt all the...
  8. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

Does anyone know if this box is getting AC or DC from the vehicle? Sounds like R1 can only export DC. Maybe jeep is running the charger backwards to get AC into that box which would make the box able to be much simpler, smaller, and cheaper. It looks too small to have an 1800watt inverter in it...
  9. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

I wonder if anyone has tried replacing the stock Rivian inverter with an 1800 watt one? Not sure how smart the interface is between the R1 and inverter.... If it's just an on off switch then seems like it should be possible. It's probably a 400v DC> 120v AC inverter. I guess in theory maybe...
  10. Is the 120v 1500w limit for the entire truck or per outlet plug?

All breakers in a house can deliver at least 15amps, unless it's a kitchen/etc than code requires 20amp minumum circuit... The Rivian is limited to 12 amps. It's so stupid as many small appliances will draw over 12 amps, maybe just for less than a minute, but my 135Kwh Rivian can't handle that...
  11. Phantom / Vampire Drain Solution Works! Using 12v Battery Tender

Yeah I just don't know it's possible for a mode that disables some items, I suspect the computer needs to be on or off and that causes the drain. To turn it off I believe they already have shipping mode. If anything they should just improve that mode so it uses as few watts as possible and...
  12. Phantom / Vampire Drain Solution Works! Using 12v Battery Tender

That would be great if there's were some simple accessories that could be turned off. My suspicion is it's the whole system and not just some individual component. Also disconnecting power to some modules might throw error codes. If vampire drain could be fixed in software I think Rivian...
  13. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

Damn 20kw is a ton! If it's over 11kw it would need a hardwired solution as generator inlet ports just go up to 240v 50amp (11kw) So discharging an R1 large pack (135kwh) from 80%>20% is 81kwh... So that would mean you need to fill up the Rivian every 4 hours. Doesn't seem that worthwhile...
  14. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I looked into the Delta Pro Ultra some more - it appears it can charge from 120v while inverting exporting 240v+120v. The only restriction it has is if it's charging at 240v then it can only invert at 240v, it will not power 120v loads.
  15. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

Well sure. But then for a lease does it make sense to spend $6k on the V2G bidirectional charger?
  16. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

Yeah I really wouldn't want my Rivian to be part of daily grid backup. I'd rather just use the battery when I drive it and not cycle it up and down while its sitting unused in my garage. Now a few times a year cycling on a power outage is totally fine and insignificant. But I'd need a hell of a...
  17. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I think a guy here posted how he had a DC charger from his Rivian AC power the delta pro DC input... If you have 2x of those chargers you could do each at 700watts and then let them both charge from the Rivian 24/7 into your delta pros
  18. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

Yeah it seems way more useful to invest in a portable battery backup system that has dozens of other uses than invest in a currently non-existent proprietary V2H charger that might be a useless brick once Rivian changes to the next gen of vehicles. Even if this thing gets released who knows how...
  19. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I have a bluetti 200L that can charge any limit from 0-2400 AC in while simultaneously exporting 0-2400watts. Tested with the Rivian works great. It's not 240v though. But really sucks the delta pro can't do that. Do you have delta pro 3 with the 240amp plug? I had read the original delta pro...
  20. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

So what about using a Ecoflow Delta Pro3 power station? It charges at 1500 watts 24/7 from the Rivian (36kwH per day) and exports 240v 4000 watts to a generator interlock kit on the house electrical panel? $2k Delta pro $100 interlock kit Then also can use the Delta pro for other uses if...
