These guys have had 4 years to get out the original max pack, and they can't even give us delivery dates for that yet. You expect me to believe that they'll release this in 7-9 months from announcement?
Just received. I wonder if the Max Pack or the Cybertruck will get here first...
"We are working hard to get your R1T to you as soon as possible. In January, R1T Preorder Holders with Max pack configurations were told you would receive a new delivery window estimate in late February...
As a Max Pack order holder, I think I've seen more comments on this forum like "you don't really need 400 miles of range anyway, I'm happy with my 300" than actual ire towards Rivian for the constant delays / vaporware that the Max Pack is becoming. I do agree that Musk makes a lot of stupid...
Everyone here is pointing out the endless delays for the Cybertruck and Tesla Semi, yet ignoring the Max Pack's similar predicament (along with all the other smaller Rivian features which were promised but never delivered or canceled). Elon may over promise and under deliver, but he's not the...
I think the consideration the poster was thinking was that if Tesla's connector gets adopted by even one other manufacturer, it might now be considered a "standard" under the new infrastructure bill. This will both grant Tesla access to infrastructure money and backhandedly fulfill Elon's...
I'd been waiting to see this confirmed somewhere, so thank you OP. I think with this news, I'm out. Back to waiting for the CT or Silverado EV.
In the spirit of Rivian though, I think I'll wait to cancel my reservation until 3-4 months before it's my turn to order.
Who'd have thought the Max Pack would take the Cybertruck's place as vaporware truck of the year. And now that it looks like CT tooling equipment is showing up in Austin, Tesla may end up with the first 400+ mile truck after all...
Given that we're getting close to when Max Packs are supposedly rolling out, I wouldn't be surprised to see an uptick in reversions to the max pack for people who were originally quoted 1H23 delivery dates.
If you downgraded and don't have a guide already, you're probably not going to take...
I hope they don't cancel the Max pack, because I've been waiting for an EV truck wth 400+ miles of range since 2015. Current DD is a Model Y, so I have a good sense of how far I can get with a ~300 mile battery.
I think the bigger issue, as some have pointed out here, is strategic. Rivian is...
That's incorrect. The Lightning has only two battery options, Standard Range and Extended Range. SR is rated for around 250 miles, while ER (tested here) is rated for around 300. However, the ER Platinum has a slightly lower range than the ER Lariat and XLT due to more options / heavier weight...
Would've been more helpful if the test had been run with the longest distance Lightning. It's pretty well known that the Platinum, even with the Extended Range battery, has less range than the Lariat trim.
Glad to finally see some motorcycles in the R1T bed. Here's another one from Reddit. Looks like this guy installed a wheel chock and it doesn't interfere with the tonneau cover.
I originally had BM, but I like this OC update enough to change my configuration. I'm a 2H23 reservation anyway.
My bigger concern is that they unceremoniously drop the Max Pack like they did with the Explore trim. That'd be enough for me to go back to waffling between the R1T and the Lightning.
Remember, people have been doing this with Tesla since it started. People were calling Tesla a fake/foreign car company right up until it became the most valuable car manufacturer in the US.
The truth is probably somewhere between your post and the one you quoted. Tesla's recent products are definitely behind schedule, but there's not really any reason, given Tesla's track record, to expect the CT to be an imaginary product. Hell, the Rivian I have on order - the R1T Max Pack - is...
I thought I saw somewhere a few weeks ago that some Max Pack order holders have been contacted by guides, but that the expectation was still that they'd be delivered in 2023. Let me see if I can find that thread...
Edit: Here it is.
I solved this problem in my Tesla by buying a seatbelt extender. Much easier than messing with the brake / go pedal at the same time. I'd imagine this will also work in the Rivian, but I can't verify as I don't have one yet.
