I used high since I got my R1S, but I just had to get new tires at 16k miles, so I switched to low to see if it will make any difference on tire wear (it probably won’t, but worth a shot). I am still able to stay off the brake 95% of the time.
I just returned from my road trip from San Jose to Seattle and back. We had a packed car with 4 adults and 3 kids (15, 11 and 8) on the way to Seattle. 2 adults and 3 kids on the way back. We had the Motion 3 XXL loaded up with 4 of the Thule Gopack duffel bags, and 2 other duffel bags. In the...
Yup, the box is on tight and fully secured, but since I have it pushed forward as much as possible there is about 3 feet of the box in front of the forward most cross bar. With that much overhang, it’s not surprising that there is some “bounce”. With that said, the box has been empty and I’m...
I picked up the Thule Motion 3 xxl a few weeks ago. It fits great and the lift gate clears. The rack shop suggested I use the front latches, but I did t want it hanging over the front for both efficiency and looks. I will say, having it all the way forward on the rear latches leaves quite a bit...
Well that's good news. My Lightning was just built and I was thinking I'd probably lose out on the credit by a few weeks (assuming this bill stays on the fast track and is signed relatively quickly). I was thinking the transition rules were intended to be an attempted anti-abuse provision to...
The way I read the transition rule, any EV purchased after the bill is signed into law (without a binding contract), but before the end of this year will not qualify for either the old credit nor the new one. The date of enactment will be whenever the President signs the bill. The new rule is...
The date of enactment would be the date the bill gets signed into law. Effective date for the new law is 12/31/22, so there will actually be a window where you don't get either, if I'm reading it right. Anyone who makes the purchase in 2022, but before the bill gets signed falls under the...
I agree. This would leave a window where anyone who purchases an otherwise qualifying vehicle will not get any credit, regardless of whether they would qualify for a credit under the new law (as already pointed out, a refundable deposit like does not qualify as a binding contract). That window...
Nice! From the Lightning forum it looks like a lot of folks getting scheduled from April-May.
No such luck for me yet. I also have a Lariat ER with the same order and reservation dates as you. Hopefully I get scheduled in the next batch!
I didn't see this posted anywhere else. Rivian tweeted a description of colors and included this snapshot of Limestone in the spray booth. It doesn't provide a clear shot, but it beats the photoshop picture. Then again, maybe this is photoshop too.
If they do resell them, that would be a way to jump the line.
If Cox is the reseller it will be interesting to see whether they put a markup on them.
I guess we'll find out.
Does anyone know what Rivian will do with vehicles that are returned within the 7-day satisfaction window?
Wondering if Rivian might make these available for sale to non-reservation holders.
The other thing that makes a big difference in my opinion is soft top vs hard top. I'm not a big fan of the soft top.
With that said, I agree, the ones you've seen are probably Bronco sports. There are very few of the full sized Broncos on the road as Ford has had huge issues with production...
I came across this on the Bronco6g forum.

Nice size comparison. Also, I can't quite see if the Rivian has temporary plates. Maybe another customer delivery (or one of the ones we've already seen)?
Wow, that's awesome! Not sure which is more impressive, that RJ was so friendly or that your mom spotted the Rivians and went with you. I'll give more points to your mom!
FWIW, Rivian's response to the proposal is below (per a Bloomberg Tax article):
Rivian, the electric-truck maker backed by Amazon.com Inc., said the expansion of the tax credit is a “step in the right direction” but that the proposal “risks confusing” potential buyers.
“Rivian supports a...
