at 84K miles and have now had two full replacements. Tech told me there a little "shelf" where debris collect and this is the reason. He said it's especially bad in Northern NE as we drive on dirt roads more than most. I always drive regen and this is certainly a design flaw. It was suggested...
Nothing said at the time, they told me that this was very unusual and that they had elevated it for the main office to take a look at. I'm wondering if this happened because I towed a trailer for some long stretches (although I don't use the brake pedal when I tow either)
They covered the labor but not the parts for this, can't recall the total since it's been a while but I think it was in the $1200 range.... and agree this should not have happened.
nothing else strange with the truck. Initially they said it might have to do with me towing but I have only towed about 3-4K of the miles. Something is definately a bit weird, the question is if it is something with my vehicle / just in regions where it's wet / cold and things rust or if it's a...
@dleewla according to the tech they are looking at why the pads wear out too fast and one theory they are working on is that with rust on the pads when the truck is held in place, when stopped, this creates excessive wear on the pads . I have not had any issues whatsoever with brakes etc...
Just had a chat with the technician here in Chelsea, MA. They have seen three examples of this in New England and have elevated this for further inquiry. The working theory is that the climate in New England (wet and cold) creates rust on the pads. (I think this is a known EV issue friends in...
@Zoidz yes it's at the Rivian Service Center in Chelsea, MA. They are quoting $900 for pads and rotors and I think there is a realization something is wrong because they took the labor off before I started asking questions. I'll update after I hopefully get the truck back this afternoon.
Morning - I have 27K miles on my R1T since mid May of last year. Brought it in for service last week and was told that my brake pads were at 4 and 5mm respectively and needed replacement. Has anyone else had issues like this? I have towed a 16 x 10' trailer for about 3K of the 27K miles but to...
I have been towing sales samples in a 16x10 Stealth Trailer for the last couple of months. Longest tow was 592 miles from Buffalo, NY to ME. Here is some of my feedback;
Range - seems like wind resistance (my trailer is tall and square) is worse than weight when it comes to range. I have been...
