I had a problem where after a heavy rain my drivers door would dump a pint or two on the ground when I opened it. At my last service appointment they replaced a valve and fixed it.
My tonneau still works, I like it now that I have it, it hasn’t leaked to the point where my pile of tools gets wet (yet). I lubricate it periodically with dry silicone spray. Once I can get a cap I might be interested in removing it to gain some space.
Once I find a cap I won’t have to worry about it. Mine works and any leaking seems to end up below the floor of the bed. I have a pile of tools including some cotton tarps in the bed all the time and haven’t noticed anything getting wet In spite of days of soaking by what was left of Ian.
