Yah, I wouldn't put much faith in those early contacts. More of a show than anything else. I'm #3574 with LE R1T, launch green in Los Angeles. @CarterGee I don't remember well, but didn't the guide give you a delivery time of Nov?
In the video with the Rivian engineer showing off the kitchen, it does seem you lose at least 4 inches of vertical space with the gear shuttle. Makes the tunnel look much smaller. I think I might remove it from my configuration. Need to sit on this for a few days.
Has anyone seen the...
I know Rivian has the 7 day or 1,000 mile return policy, but I know they would rather not deal with returns. I wonder if they will wait until a majority of people have test driven the R1T before they start with more deliveries. Probably not possible in only a few months.
I'm having second thoughts about the shuttle now. I don't see a situation where I will have room to extend it out all the way in a parking lot. Maybe half way to get things in/out. Maybe better for me to have the entire gear tunnel space.
Yes, but who posts 15 times about their vehicle? And each one sounds like an ad. I would never post my car on social media either way. It's childish among other things.
Yes. We would have seen something by now. I believe deliveries are not happening. This guy's posts are so much like a commercial. It's very easy to see it's a stunt. Seems he made an IG account on Sept 8 and has just posted about Rivian since.
I agree that if Rivian isn't ready...
I looked at his posts again and everything feels like a marketing stunt. Really, it doesn't feel like a regular person posting about their life. He just posts about Rivian, and it all started less than a month ago. Each post feels like an ad.
All his posts start on Sept 8, and they are all Rivian events from 2019. Kind of odd that he posted those 2 years late just a few weeks before he got delivery. He probably works in marketing. Job description? "Act like you're a normal person , get a Rivian and post about it on Instagram...
Do they all sit around a table and discuss how they can best mislead us? "Let's tell them guide contacts will start in May, but we will just contact a handful of people and then stop. We will start deliveries in Sept, but actually to a few employees. "
Post from Sept 8 - 2019 event"showing off the gear tunnel. He's standing on the gear tunnel and has something like an employee tag around his neck.
Still feels like the late May "guide contact" event. I want normal folks to get the truck, then I'll get excited.
