My most interesting exchange was nonverbal. I was on a road trip through Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago and got passed by two guys in a work truck. After they went around me, they slowed down. I moved over and passed them with the cruise set. As I did, they were filming me go around them and...
Try packing first. My family of 6 - me, my wife, and 4 teenagers - did 2800 miles over Christmas. Frunk held 2 large duffels with another in the tire well. I removed the caddy and cover and small stuff like backpacks and such just sat directly on top of the duffel. I could still see out the rear...
I'm going into the mountains this weekend - NC from Atlanta, up 515 to 74. I'll be parked at a trailhead for 2 nights. I'll be right at 100mi from the most convenient DCFC. I'll try to top off there (or close to it) on my way up. It'll then be 100mi to the trailhead, a 2 night wait with lows in...
The FE looks great. I ended up changing to BM to take delivery sooner. I love the wood grain but was less certain of the leather. After seeing the BM in person, the charcoal look instead of black on the leather made me go with BM.
I prefer the look of the cross bars up front. Front/center or...
Confirmed owner, R1S. I would not purchase at the higher price. Part of that is just my personal economics and decisions on what I want to spend whether it's "worth it" or not. Part of that is the is it worth it conversation, though. Had I not purchased the R1S, I probably would have purchased a...
Congrats! Another R1S in Georgia! You're maybe the first person I've seen that waited longer for delivery than I did. Patient indeed. They didn't let me do a factory pick up, unfortunately. Glade you got to experience that. Hope you enjoy the drive home. Congrats again!
Maybe? Hard to say if the folded seat deactivates the sensor or blocks it. I don't want to put a ton of weight on the folded seat with something on the seat. I can tell you that one side can be folded and the other side not and sitting on one side activates the vents for both.
Ok... so here's the verdict. There appears to be a weight sensor in the 3rd row that activates the vents. Weight on either side (it's a 50/50 split 2 seater) activates both the L/R vents regardless of seat belt status. ONLY when the A/C is on. If heat is on, 3rd row vents aren't active at all...
There are F/R climate settings but R doesn't distinguish between 2nd and 3rd row. I think it's unlikely that it uses seatbelt connection but I'm personally curious so now I'm going to test.
Agreed. Energy is cheaper in Georgia than in a lot of the country and the plan I'm on is cheaper at night. That was a big part of our decision to go EV.
Totally agree. The traffic light changes are amazing! You mention a lot of the wishlist items that I had in mind as well. I've thought a lot about how a "pause" or something might work where I can change lanes without the chime chime chime. Where's our Rivian customer engagement group where we...
That's awesome data. And super encouraging from an efficiency standpoint. You paid $.17/kwh vs. my $.20 and you're seeing nearly 40% greater efficiency than I was. I'll be curious to see more data like this over time. Was the difference R1T vs. R1S? I wouldn't think so given the EPA ratings...
No clue where that came from. World's worst auto correct? Not sure. Cambridge is where I was looking at but ended up taking a different route there down I-75 instead.
