The R2 platform may be getting announced soon but those cars won't roll off the line until 2026 likely. If that's the case, Rivian still needs to figure out R1 pricing in the meantime. I don't think they are priced to sell right now to the mainstream public at their current price point. At teh...
I'm in the same boat. Tesla MY discounting has actually forced me to delay getting my R1S. I think Rivian's post price increase prices are way too high. I've always maintained pre-price increase or slightly above that is the sweet spot where these will sell incredibly well. (To be clear I say...
Agreed. The Model Y fulfills our needs now, but won't in a year or so. So we'll be due for an upgrade, still find the price a bit too steep for my liking.
In that boat. Rivian wants me to configure and we've been putting it off. Rivian took so long that we ended up buy a Model Y and I just don't see the motivation to go and spend much more. Granted the R1S is a superior car in every way, but I'm not willing to pay what Rivian wants me to pay at...
I've always been of the belief that - The pre-price hike price of the R1S is the sweet spot to create enough demand that these things sell and you don't have to worry about them sitting around on the lot. post-price hike is just enough of a difference to make people second guess....especially...
Anyone with an R1S in Mississauga, Oakville or Burlington wanna do a good deed & drop by in Oakville to see if this thing fits in my garage. I've measured but I have my doubts about clearance with the actual garage door when it's up lol
Got my email this aft as well. We will be delaying as long as possible now. Just don't need the R1S now that we have a Y(bought a bit less than a year ago). We'll need more space when we have a third kid.
This is kinda where I'm at. We bit the bullet and brought a Model Y and we're loving it. And although the Y is smaller than we need at times, we've managed just fine. I have no issues waiting until 25 - the Tesla Network has spoiled me and having to deal with other networks will be a tough sell...
Although I kept my deposit with Rivian, I'm already 1.5 months into my ownership of a Model Y. Also will look at the EX90 or EV9. So far the MY has been an absolute pleasure and loving the EV experience so far. When Rivian gets their shit together here in Canada I suppose I'll have to decide if...
Quick Q - what's your real world range?
The R1S is so delayed in Canada, we're considering getting the PHEV primarily because of range loss in the winter and long range drives (tbh, we only drive 400+kms once a year, so BEV wil fulfill 99% of our needs). But my regular ICE XC90 is doing great...
Not sure about valet...but I agree about the location. This location would be around 45 mins for me. Something around 427/401 would have been more central for most folks IMO. Selfishly something around the QEW where the Tesla is would've been even better lol
It's Volvo's entire ethos. Yes by the time i get my R1S it will have snow mode likely...but that's the crap that would never fly with Volvo. They are so hyper focused on safety they wouldn't let an EV that heavy be on the road without a 'no regen' option
