  1. Electrical Efficiency (how many miles/kWh are you achieving)

23 R1S 22" Quad - All Purpose / Standard (mostly): 2.27 lifetime 18k miles / 2.22 last 10k miles. I just changed from OEM Pirelli Scorpions to Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 115 in the same rim size, so it will be interesting to see whether that 2.2 changes.
  2. Update 2024.31 brings interior Color Accent Lighting Themes to GEN 1 Rivians

This does seem inconsistent with my experience and the many posts across the forum about the enhanced audio after the update. I'd consider putting in a ticket as it may be that something's out of wack on your particular truck.
  3. Update 2024.31 brings interior Color Accent Lighting Themes to GEN 1 Rivians

I wonder what the nav improvements are. That's where the juice is for this one, in my view. Though was expecting some news on the infotainment options, given we're in the Connect+ timeline now.
  4. Upgraded the sub in R1S with aftermarket Alpine SWR-T10 Subwoofer

Can't say it is necessary -- far from an electrical systems expert, but I do know the 12V in the R1 has had problems and issues more generally. So when I was talking to a sound shop about upgrading my whole system, they proposed to include a 2nd battery for the amp/sub in the spare tire space...
  5. New 21" tire option - Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 275/55-21 @ $380

I just got the Michelin Defender LTX MS/2 in 22" (XL/115 load), and immediately noticed an improvement in ride comfort.
  6. R1S 22” Tire Load Index??

Thanks for that read. I found a shop that was fine installing a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 in 275/50 R22 XL 115 today. All I know thus far is they look good, and the ride feels appreciably better than the old scorpions. Will be observing the efficiency closely but expect it should be...
  7. Upgraded the sub in R1S with aftermarket Alpine SWR-T10 Subwoofer

Do you plan to add an additional 12V battery, or just run the additional hardware off the existing OEM 12V?
  8. ATL_R1S Midnight Black Build

Gorgeous rig! Happy 1st Riviversary. What are those extended drink holder insert things in your last picture there? I've got a Yee Pin organizer, but the cup holder holes are massive and needs some kind of insert unless you're only ordering big gulps all the time. Edit: NVMD, it's in your...
  9. Discount Tire Won't Install 115H Rated Tires on 20" Wheels

Had to do the same today with a newly-purchased set of Michelin Defenders in the 115 XL 22" size.
  10. Any recommendations on 22" Tire Replacement

As another data point - after 1 year and 17k miles of road surface abrasion, my OEM Pirelli Scorpions are pretty much finito. I was debating between the Continental Terrain Contact H/Ts and Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2s. Ultimately went with Michelin (specifically, the 115 load index / XL...
  11. safety issue - blind spot warning

No one should rely on that driver display animation for anything other than identifying zombies and witches during Halloween. It's run off a single camera in the windshield, and isn't intended to be a real-time blindspot indicator or anything of the sort. I sometimes find it helpful as a way...
  12. 22” Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires resulted in a negligible INCREASE in efficiency (2.07 mi/kwh) compared to OEM Pirellis (2.04 mi/kwh)

Thanks for the update. I just read through this entire thread as it's now timely for me -- my 1 yo / 18k mile Pirellis are down to 3/32 - 4/32, and I'm not about to fork over that kind of money just to replace them again this time next year. I'm also not wild about adding 10-15 pounds of...
  13. Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 275/50/22 115 review

Any pushback from the tire shop on mounting 115 load index tires in place of the 116 rated Scorpion's? I would like to get the same skins on my R1S, but I'm not sure Discount Tire will go for it since the placard says HL. That being said, given the GVWR of the R1S is 8532 lbs, and 115 load...
  14. Any recommendations on 22" Tire Replacement

Be interested in whether Costco is willing to install the 115s. I just got back from Discount Tire where we spent about an hour trying to sort through various 22" tire weights and options. Bottom line, DT says I need to replace with HL / 116 version of the Defenders (vs. XL / 115), but that...
  15. Gen2 Rivian Vehicles Wireless Charger Available For Pre-Order (by S00nish)

Well, I have the revised edition of this charger for the Gen 1 R1S, and can say it works flawlessly and the look is also high quality and well suited to the interior. If the Gen 2 version works as well, and no reason it shouldn't, it's a great product.
  16. latest VIN for R1S

Oooh, so we're now well into the 50s! Amazing. Wonder who got #50,000 even.
  17. Rivian Premium Audio Options

I spent a fair bit of time researching potential aftermarket upgrades to my R1S. Talked to an installer that's done lots of Teslas, but no Rivians yet, and got a quote for $5k for a really nice set up with a second 12V battery, custom sub in the spare tire well, and new front and rear speakers...
  18. How to Improve a Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System With Simple EQ Changes (Equipment Measured Tests & Results)

Ah, with all the excitement over the improved music output, I came back to this thread specifically in the hope that superfluid has entered the chat! Looking forward to your analysis when you find time. Also wonder if they did something to fill that crossover issue you identified. And if you...
