  1. Comma 4 Four released

I finally had enough and ignored them. :P I look forward to the Comma4 reviews. The release of UHF on the Gen2s has me really considering getting one.
  2. Colorado Checking In

Already did a deep charge on the truck and power banks ahead of expected power outages in my area. We had gusts up to 102 mph on Wednesday with more of the same expected today with extremely high fire danger.
  3. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

So one thing I like that I didn't realize would happen. With the map view active on the driver display, you still get lane edge warnings inside the blue circle with the arrow and you still get the rear-radar warnings for vehicles in your blind spot around the blue circle. I do kind of wish...
  4. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

Gen1 remained as it was before with speed on the buttons and distance on the scroll wheel.
  5. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

Oof. I can't be the only one that thinks the "new" center-screen gauge view style is....not good. Everything on the gauges just looks crowded and smooshed since they didn't redesign anything and just made the boxes shorter. It looks awful and just a bunch of empty space at the top where...
  6. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

I gotcha now. I kind of wish they'd make the brake-hold on/off selector work for all off-road drive modes on the gauges page. Kinda weird they only allow it in Rock Crawl, which as you point out is quad (and tri?) only.
  7. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

Seems like the new use of the button/scroll wheel on the right side of the wheel would interfere with trailer brake control. Any idea how they will have dealt with that around the driver display changes, Jose?
  8. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

Ah... I hated snow wheeling in my previous 4Runner. Can't imagine even trying without a winch in a 7000 lbs vehicle. If you're talking on-road snow...I've personally found that regen improved quite a bit in snow mode since they first released it. It's possible it's less good without winter...
  9. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

What situations do you think need low/no regen? I've personally found regen amazing descending the mountain passes here, but what really doesn't work well is the brake-hold while negotiating a rocky descent (climbing is fine). So using Rock Crawl mode with the brake-hold off and firm...
  10. Launch Mode coming to Gen1 + Apple Watch support w/ active entry (both coming early 2026) -- confirmed by Wassym

I found it at one point, but the MachE used a higher-tier MobileEye system than Rivian installed in Gen1, presumably because Rivian thought they could build their own system and integrate with all the other cameras. Also, MachE (at least my wife's 2024 Rally) will not do lane-centering if you...
  11. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

We've always been able to turn off traction control, or at least mostly off, just not independently from stability control. If you set the stability control to reduced it definitely lets you spin the tires (at least in snow mode and some of the off-road modes). Turning stability off completely...
  12. Launch Mode coming to Gen1 + Apple Watch support w/ active entry (both coming early 2026) -- confirmed by Wassym

Personally, looking forward to the Apple Watch key on my Gen1 because my wife and I share a 24A charger at the moment. Since her's charges faster, I get to plug mine in before bed and half the time I walk out to the truck and forget my phone. If the watch can unlock the truck, then I can plug...
  13. My Deep Dive on R2 Autonomy with Rivian Engineers (LiDAR, RAP1 AI Chip, Cameras, Radar, Software)

Your specific ride may have "handled it like a champ", but there are other videos around where the safety driver had to perform multiple interventions where collisions likely would've occurred. It's definitely impressive how far they've come in a relatively short period of time, but they also...
  14. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

Reverting to the autonomy view when in HWA is going to be really annoying when what I really want is to see the map/nav when on the highway along with the gauge view on the main display.
  15. Glad to have a Gen 1

PHEVs are basically training wheels for EVs and people mostly don't realize it until they get one and see they basically use no gas over the life of ownership. It's why Chevy only put around 40 miles of EV range in the Volt back in the day. I just don't want to see people pushed into EREVs...
  16. Glad to have a Gen 1

Likewise, your view is not necessarily the majority held one. I have zero desire for a range-extended EV. 95% of the time I don't need or want an ICE that requires more maintenance and adds weight and complexity. The beauty of an EV is efficiency, simplicity, and less maintenance. I'm...
  17. Glad to have a Gen 1

That's what Standard and current Large pack are for. Those of us that tow absolutely need all the capacity we can get because you can't beat physics. Even towing an open car hauler I'm seeing 1.1-1.4 mi/kWh for an effective 80-10% range of 100-130 miles depending on conditions. Those towing...
  18. Glad to have a Gen 1

Clearly you don't road trip either. I've done around 10k miles of road tripping and close to 3k miles of towing. Truck tows beautifully, but the distance between DCFC stations out west leaves something to be desired, so charging performance is actually very important to me...especially crappy...
