No, this is spot on. Some things are better analog. I’ve had my Model Y for 16 months and hate the AC controls. They would have been better off engineering the air filters and condenser so it didn’t belch a nasty smell after 6 months of use.
If you can make your data available via Google sheets that would be amazing. Doing so unlocks analysis from the community. Really like your channel BTW.
If they were actually tied to a driver and passenger setting I’d agree with you. But they aren’t, and if I had to choose I’d rather have the ability to change the fan speeds independently. The more people you have in a car the more climate-control opinions you have to deal with. The current...
He points out the vents; why do we need computer controls? We don’t. Wtf does Rivian have to do the same dumb thing as Tesla? Also why can’t the passenger and driver control their own vent fan speed independently? It’s standard in every minivan I’ve owned. It’s a stupid thing to skimp...
Did you get a chance to adjust AC controls? I’m mostly concerned about ease of adjustment and the ability to set fan speeds independently for passengers and driver. I’d love to have someone comment on these interfaces.
I have a 7 seat model Y because it was either that or a Honda Pilot/Kia Telluride; my wife drives a Grand Cherokee. I ordered an R1S in hopes that she will take a liking to it as a replacement fir the Grand Cherokee.

I just can’t convince my wife to get into a smaller crossover. Small lady requires big car, apparently. She hated the...
I bought a Model Y 7 seat as a stopgap as soon as it was announced, but the R1S is what I hope to be the replacement for the Minivan. My wife wanted me to buy a Range Rover but I wanted electric; I’m hopeful she’ll want the R1S and I will keep driving the Y.
TBH I just don’t want to buy any...
