  1. Weekly Rivian Responds: Details on NACS, Spare Tires, Driver+, and More! [6/27/2023]

I’m resigned to the fact that I might get the adapter before my power tonneau is fixed.
  2. The Competition: 2024 Silverado EV Reviews Are Here

All RJ needs to do if figure out how to make a profit and Rivian will be set up for success.
  3. If the R1S was under $80k I'd buy in a heartbeat

Funny how Rivian needs to start making money somehow. I got my T last August for the mid-70's which was *REALLY* good for me but not so good for Rivian. I bought a Tesla MY because it was available now and because I'm using it for over the road business trips using the SC system can't be beat...
  4. The Competition: 2024 Silverado EV Reviews Are Here

    I'd preface that with "buck"
  5. If the R1S was under $80k I'd buy in a heartbeat

With all due respect, regardless of what's happening in Korea, the Kia (and Hyundai) won't appear in the US for months *AND* the range isn't even close to the S.
  6. What tires work for the factory 21” wheels beside the OEM?

Michelin 275/50/R21 would work size wise. Load is a little less than the Pirelli's and I'm not sure what the range hit would be.
  7. If the R1S was under $80k I'd buy in a heartbeat

While there is still a wait time for the S, all others mentioned are much, *MUCH* farther out than the S *PLUS* you can expect some sort of dealer add-on. Also, bear in mind that EV's are computers with tires and motors so software updates are important. Tesla (I also own a MYLR) is the best...
  8. The Competition: 2024 Silverado EV Reviews Are Here

My R1T keeps looking better and better when I look at the gawdawful alternatives.
  9. Software Update 2023.22.00 looks like it's coming...

The recirc issue is one reason why updates are rolled out incrementally. It wouldn’t surprise me if the update was paused while point-one is being developed to deal with the issue.
  10. Road Trip: 3,200 miles in 5 days from CA to RI in our R1T

2.39 is a very decent average for the trip! I got really jealous when I read that the cover was deployed. There's two kinds of power covers: broken ones and those that *WILL* break.
  11. Conserve mode: Need new tires!

I want some of what you're drinking! I'm just over 17k, have the 21's, and I use AP except when on a trip. I'm not a speed demon and I make every attempt (hey! I'm only human and a person has to live every once in a while), I've rotated every 5000, and the wear bars are showing. Which brand of...
  12. Prevent Damage to 21" Rims from Aero Covers

Well ... my T just passed 17,000 miles (in 10 months) @ lifetime 2.57. I took the ugly, destructive covers off right after delivery.
  13. Prevent Damage to 21" Rims from Aero Covers

Or ... just take them off. Range hit is negligible and the wheels look killer w/o the aero plastic.
  14. ? Rivian Adopts Tesla NACS Standard! (Adapters in 2024, Standard Charging Port in 2025)

My hunch is that Tesla is working on a universal adapter to be used by all non-Tesla manufacturers, and they will be dropped at the same time. There probably needs to be some sort of identification chip embedded in the adapter tied to your VIN to communicate with the the SC when you plug-in.
  15. ? Rivian Adopts Tesla NACS Standard! (Adapters in 2024, Standard Charging Port in 2025)

Tesla chargers, don’t charge a fixed rate. You were charged on the rate of kilowatt hour delivery. The faster, your vehicle charges, the higher, the cost.
  16. Toyota Touts 745-mile range, 10 minute charge for Solid-State battery

Game changer for sure! If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
  17. Rivian Insurance (Nationwide) not writing in coastal Florida

CA (and Canadian) fires have much more to do with forest management (lack thereof) than climate change.
  18. Adding a 2nd EV to the family, best dual charger?

We have a Tesla and a R1T and both use the same Rivian 60 amp breaker/48 amp delivery wall charger. (The Tesla has an adapter). Works just fine.
