I vaguely remember something ordered in 2019. Not so sure. Perhaps someone can send me a powered one right now, and I will recreate, for scientific confirmation only, of course, the test mentioned above.
That's correct: any aero savings is probably negated by a) its weight b) you have a big, tall, gigantic windshield pushing air in front of you. As for noise: YMMV, but the wind from "upstairs" in my no-underbody R1T completely dwarfs any savings you'd get downstairs. That said: it's no Bentley...
I didn't realize this until buying my spare (first time truck owner) ... that most -- or is it ALL except Rivian -- have the spare hanging out right under the bed facing the road: essentially, the spare is one big skid plate.
I noticed even the Ford Lightning had a very weird, and large, metal...
This is the third video or white paper where, when comparing DoD ... it is quite unreasonable to compare 0-100% vs 60-70%. His first statement, right out the bat: don't charge to 100% unless you need it. A few minutes later: don't discharge close to 0%. That is: The extra degradation caused by...
AFAIK, you can chain those solar panels, guaranteeing a full battery.
My setup is a tad too small (original Eco from Kickstarter, and one 110W panel set)
First world problems, I know, but: anyone out there have a solution, or a 3D print for a oval "L" bracket to fit over the charge port light (to shine it into the actual port).
The idea is that one applies mirrored film on the inside, to shine the light on the actual port, instead of directly...
I almost chose 'Ranger" but chickened out.
I figured I could also yell at the kids, "Get into the Ranger, NOW!", and at least have an internal smile.
What's your Rivian's humor setting?
Same problem new - on a R1T so I had an easy time doing bar-wrestling-pindowns from above. They come tight, apparently, and WILL loosen over time (1 sample: my truck), so if you can install tight, leave it be. As folks mentioned, the second click is from closing the latch mechanism: when mobile...
My kids showed me this. In fact: in his always-kind way, Mark directly put a bullseye over the critical issue (for SF): there's a fencing operation the size of a regular store!, right on the street in plan view, that all the thieves go to to immediately dump the merchandise. One place. And it...
I hope: Rivian knows , they just won’t tell us. While the batteries will age no matter what, this thread is only about slowing that rate: and with Rivian’s things like preconditioning-when/plugged in using wall current, not batteries, always being plugged in will, IMHO, save you far more than 1...
The good news is that privacy glass almost always fails to opaque (lost voltage). The bad news: your kid just stole your iPad and is pressing buttons while you are in the shower.
Does it matter/is it mandatory? No. Yes, you want it though : 1) Firmware updates 2) The car has exactly zero logs on charging details (ask me how I know) when there’s an issue. The wall charger does: so WiFi access helps when things go wrong.
To solve , have a 2.4 GHz cheap access point...
So: Rivian Driver+ chose 35mph on a road (nav posted speed limit). It is 25 the entire way (map has the beginning and end at 25,) . Officer pulls me over, and I think because of the 2 well behaved kids in the back all I got was a warning and two Badge stickers! Very grateful.
So: how do I report...
There’s no preconditioning the battery in this update? Sub freezing temps, ran to a close SC not in Rivian maps, max was 21kW. I didn’t wait for the batteries to warm up, and left .
That goes in the "insert liquid" port inside the front trunk (passenger side).
Note/disclaimer: If you don't know what's there, that's a joke, DO NOT DO THIS. I repeat, don't do this.
