It was "recovery" and did not "avoid" the embarrassing situation. Fortunately, I had backup cards and cash...and nobody "knew". I retrieved it at home in the garage.:CWL:
Yeah, I'd say that it's pretty much a given that you'd be better served by getting whatever is "on fire" away from whatever the fire might spread to than it would be to waste time with this gizmo
Give a little thought to the notion that, during an update...it is possible...just possible, that all of the functions of your app/vehicle "might" not be available at any given moment.
Now give a little thought to the notion that maybe...just maybe...this is something that wasn't spelled out to...
Please do NOT drop your credit card down there while waiting in line at the pharmacy drive up window. Ask me how I know.
Pro-tip... a painter's stir stick wrapped "backwards" with blue painters' tape can assist in the recovery of a credit card dropped between the seat and console.
It's not gonna lock you into the truck. That warning is so that you don't think..."Oh, I'm headed into the grocery store for 20 minutes, this would be a good time to apply the update"
If you don't have a secure place for the unlocked truck, just plan on "sitting with it" for a while. It won't...
WELL SHUCKS--- It won't do THIS
I was over at a friend's place last weekend. His buddy was sitting there listening to us talk about the R1T.
There was a lull in the conversation and he asked me "Can I put a gooseneck hitch on it?"
Oh well.
I live in a small town (yes, in Texas). It's the kind of place where too many people don't understand that there is a strong body of evidence that the "size of your jockstrap" is INVERSELY proportional to the amount of noise that your (usually unneccessarily) diesel pickup truck makes.
I was...
Give some thought to re-jiggering your load shedding setup. If you have an electric dryer and something less than a house full of kids, have it drop that first and work around the times that you're charging. If you have multiple HVAC units, pick one that's cooling a part of your house that...
Yeah, clearly whoever thought up that non-optional "courtesy wipe" lives where bugs either do not exist or else they move fast enough to avoid windshields...either that or their OCD has them breaking out the bug sponge & cleaner and cleaning the windshield off every time they get out somewhere.
This cropped up for me a while back. There's a thread on it here (or in the other forum) with people complaining that it smears bugs around. The workaround is to turn OFF "auto-wipe". I did this, but I'm not happy about it.
Not mine, but...for whatever reason, a lot of people seem to be averse to posting photos with their license plates "unredacted"...you might give some thought to the fact that you've just shared someone else's.
It does and it doesn't...go to sleep that is. If you're using PAAK, then walking into the garage initiates a "discussion" between your phone and the Rivian (evidenced by a flash of the rear lights), no matter that proximity lock is set to off. It also doesn't matter that the Rivian app is...

Page linked above has discussion on NC service center (rather the lack thereof). It's possible that the NC laws preclude them from sending a technician to you as well.
There are adjustments in there to be made as well. When mine pulls down to latch, it doesn't "quite" compress the seal enough on the left side, leaving a gap as the hood line is now misaligned. If it ever rained around here, it might leak as well, but I don't know. This is a "new development"...
If you'd be so kind as to NOT misquote me, it would be a classy move.
If you read back to everything I wrote, I specifically stated that I was not (and had not) provided any guidance here or to any of my clients (none of whom have bought a Rivian).
I stand by my statement that many with a...
