I won't know until I actually run it through a full tank, which I won't annoy my neighbors doing right now.
But assuming about 0.5 gal/hr consumption at the 5kW or so and a 3.6 gallon tank, I'd expect it to add 50 miles or more before I run out of gas in the tank, then can switch to my propane...
Thanks for putting generator in quotes. Agreed on these not being in the running here.
Also, at 3.6kWh (aka 6 miles) per $3.5k, and that's it's max recharge capacity I wouldn't consider them even in the running for something like this. I'd have to buy half a Rivian of cost of 'em to even get...
Definitely taller than the tonneau. For hunting I have a trailer I bring along behind, so that doesn't matter too much for me, but can see the need.
I hate to say it, but don't think you will find one.
With hunting season coming up, and many of us going out long distance and/or staying there for a week or two (hello vampire drain keep me up at night worry), knowing ways to add charge in a pinch is getting to be important for some of us.
My 6kW Genmax (GM6000iED) works as long as I don't try...
Usually the second level down in the frunk -- just seeing the extra storage space with some tools and other stuff, then casually pointing out the drain plug and that I can fill it with ice and beers for a tailgate. They like that one.
Or the "it tows 11,000lbs". That one gets a lot of ranch...
So tempted to alter this, but make it actually hold a cable in place so I can just slide my phone onto the USB-C (or Lightning for the wife's) when I get in. Would keep the cable from laying around on the pad and getting yanked around here or there.
Might have to give it a go...thanks for the...
I've switched back and forth at highway speeds multiple times to see if it would let me, and it did. Figured if they didn't lock it out that it was probably pretty safe to do so.
While retracting, I just slowly and continually bang with my fist on the center of the slats as they go into the storage area. If it stops, back it up a bit and try again, but bigger bangs. It seems that the center flexed up and gets caught wanting to make it stop or go sideways. A bit of...
My old senior EE told me that you are specifically not supposed to rely on a breaker tripping as part of your safety plan when designing power electronics. That it won't pass regulatory body muster and get approved. Not sure if that's the case, but given how many houses in my neighborhood and...
Are you running the generator at 240V?
If not, change it over (120V charging is slow), even with a 30A receptacle. 240V with a 30A plug is fine. 50A better, but 30A is fine if 50A would be a big pain.
Then, when you show up, immediately run the generator and get enough charge to be able to...
Welcome to the forum!
I must say I find my experience on this one different. I just towed a 7k lbs trailer over Wolf Creek Pass, and don't notice this at all coming up or down, while with my Durango and friends F150, with the same trailer, I had to keep it much slower for stability than I did...
NM EV wholesale rates is supposed to be 3.3 cents during the off-peak times, but the implementation of that rate schedule has been perpetually delayed for a year or two now.
I'd love to know what it actually thinks the cabin interior temperature is on the climate control panel.
When I kick on Pet Mode, the screen will tell me what it thinks the interior temperature is, but I don't know otherwise.
I want this because, I never really know if this thing is going to...
Did the ABQ to Durango run the other day just fine on a single charge. Not a ton left over, but not a lot of pucker, and went 75+mph on 550 most of the way (just definitely obey the speed limits to a T in Cuba).
Farmington really needs some fast chargers yesterday. Would really help out. Lots of people bypassing that area and goin up from Santa Fe to Pagosa due to no chargers in Farmington (which is spending tens of millions of $$$ trying to appeal to vacationing Californians to make up for the coal...
It very well may be CAN on the inside (I dunno, haven't sniffed traffic), just the computer side facing piece is usually Ethernet/wifi/Bluetooth for easy connection to a laptop or diagnostics computer.
That's just external network data, no? Glad to see it doesn't call home when the advanced menu is entered. But you were never going to get into the truck's internal network via your in home WiFi.
I'm talking an ODB-II to Ethernet adapter and watching traffic on the truck's internal network...
