Not true you have to tell it to stay powered off that way when you touch the screens they wont power back on to get them back on you have to do the break + unlock to get them to come back

can't you do that with camping mode? I use the power down capability in camping mode to clean the screens in the truck

So in theory I could get to the 12v wires that are already there and install two 12v outlets off the same wires and it could handle the draw from both devices.

a soft reset is easy enough... are you saying this could be a software issue (bug) (feature). I doubt it is hardware related as it works most of the time.
