Bah! I had actually watched that video some time ago but wasn't focused on colors then. Then this thumbnail came up in my feed a day after joining this group and so the color, from that angle, looked grey-ish and so I thought 'there it is!'
Doh!
Interesting take.
I see it differently: Amazon is a huge company with very deep pockets. I doubt they dumped billions into a start up just to use it as their own personal production facility; it's not cost effective. But it IS attractive as an entry into the automotive market space for them...
This ‘gentleman’ won’t last long here. Not enough rocks and wooden clubs for him. And no doubt he misses the dirt floor he’s used to stomping his foot on.
Ignore the troll.
^this.
I've never been comfortable with any of the offerings out there. They all require some sort of sacrifice. Sacrifices I was loath to make.
I like to camp, but not in a tent on the ground, so we would have to tow a trailer, but I can't store a trailer on my property (HOA's) so now I have...
I kinda am also. But, those batteries are fairly hard to come by right now so I imagine Rivian uses every single one they can source for the battery packs. Maybe down the road when things settle down they will offer it.
@Arthur Itiz: If you every make it out to Denver we will take that drive, weather allowing. Over the past 10 years, I have done that drive in a BMW X5, a supercharged v-8 full sized Range Rover, a 2016 Tesla Model S, a 2017 Tesla Model X, a 2019 Tesla Model S, a 2019 Audi e-Tron, a 2020...
I don't hold RIVN so no skin in the game (other than the $1,000 preorder). I'm rooting for the company, but this type of valuation is not sustainable, IMO. Not yet, at least. The risk/reward is too high and all it would take for this stock to correct 50% is for RJ to come out and announce a...
I have a '21 Taycan 4s, but also have a R1T on order. Two different cars for two different types of driving experiences.
Try driving up and down Independence Pass in Colorado in light traffic in an all wheel drive Taycan, then you will re-evaluate your opinion. Performance statistics on...
From all accounts the R1T is fairly luxurious and handles pretty nicely. I'm not saying it's up to Porsche in those areas, but I don't think it lags behind so far as to justify double the price. At least from my point of view.
If I can pull up next to this car at a stop light and stay with it...
I think Toyota is getting caught flat-footed here. They looked at charging infrastructure and took a hard 'pass' on the technology. Now the segment is picking up steam and it's almost like Toyota has that 'deer in the headlights' approach. They either need to get onboard fast or risk their...
I'm not clear on what the appeal is to these 'elite' car manufacturers is anymore. It certainly can't be how quick they are, since consumer electric vehicle manufacturers as a whole can obtain the same, if not faster 0-60 times for far less cash.
The Porsche above has launch control and still...
I would not expect Rivian to raise prices. They're already on the high side compared to Tesla - even though Tesla doesn't offer a competing product, yet. It would hurt Rivian's stock price if they raised prices on vehicles they haven't even produced yet.
My first post on the forums. I placed a preorder for the R1T last night. My thoughts on this are as a start up Rivian will price aggressively to establish themselves and thus, will be very hesitant to raise prices before they even build their first batch of trucks.
I base this on a few...
