Issues i've started seeing after 2024.11:
* Tidal album / track pictures not showing up
* Had some plug and charge payment issues start
Did a soft reboot / hard reboot / logout + login of tidal. No resolution.
ooh! Test the resistance between pins 8 and 16 (wide side up, two pins far right). BMW uses 510 Ohm, however in my testing that doesn't get you DHCP.
The pinout for these cables still isn't documented anywhere. Here's the BMW DO-IP cable...
Interesting, was this an actual observation? I have a few ODB II to Ethernet DO-IP adapters here for BMW's and they don't result in any kind of address assignment.
Did it require loading RiDE or anything?
Early R1T reporting in with 26k miles. Very rural, lots of highway driving. Modest CCS usage on trips.
Pretty good degradation numbers (better than my 2019 Bolt TBH).
Generally keep it below 80%
They're DO-IP. The Rivian doesn't offer CAN signaling.
A small update, I spyed on a mobile service tech working on my vehicle and caught a bit of information:
Rivian techs connect to a private Palo Alto VPN network from a windows computer, and access a web-based vehicle service system on...
My Launch Edition powered Tonneau is working still somehow... though it doesn't close all the way and I have to give it a tug and help it. I feel like i'm a handful of operations away from failure.
Maybe it's time I stop helping it and let nature run its course.
I hate paying extra for stuff... and would *never* pay for OnStar in my previous Bolt EV since the service was so shite, and I refuse to play their telephone games trying to get you to forget you pay for it.
however, Rivian's LTE connectivity really does provide a lot of benefits. If they...
I haven't had any *unaddressed* problems in my R1T LE.. just a few minor addressed issue:
* New front drive unit after ~21k miles. (minor, *snorts*)
* Fixed driver door seal
* Fixed passenger door molding
* Fixed half-shaft bolts
* Fixed seat belt pre-tensioner recall
* Fixed gear tunnel...
This version seems a lot more stable, and doesn't constantly show my R1T at 0% SOC with all the doors open. Guessing they're revamping their API's for the new features.
My big pain point is they *really* enjoy the Onstar / Cable company model of slowly jacking up prices over time, then offering "specials" to drop the price back down.
I'd rather spend $10-14/mo consistently on something like Spotify or Tidal and not have commercials, and be able to choose what...
So... I like choice, but I also kinda hate Sirius XM. It's overpriced for what it is.
Kinda hope Rivian introduces the option to hide unused services if they're going to start stacking media apps.
Looking for a single set of Rivian crossbars. Central Texas area. I'll come to you (within reason)
Offering $475. Scuffs, scratches, rash fine. Just have to be non-bent and non-broken.
I'm right there with you... the new pricing is too damn expensive in principal. I *could* buy them new, but you don't make money by blowing it out your a** every chance you get.
connoisseurr I beat you to it by 2 days ?

Don't brick your trucks y'all ?
No progress here. I tried to sell some diagnostic adapters I built at cost to get more people access on etsy, but Rivian sent me a cease and desist :facepalm: I guess putting "Rivian R1 vehicles" on them was enough for their legal team.
Ah ha!

I found the NHTSA report for the drive unit issues. It mentions the fluid test (with diagrams!) :cool:
Unsure, vehicle still with Rivian. The window trim lifting is a well known issue on early VIN numbers. The fix is some...
