With R1S's being flipped so frequently now, selling for under $100K and as soon as one sells there is another one to fill its spot. There must be a backlog queue of these. It looks like a max of four R1S's on Cars and Bids at a time.
All these people buying just to flip is going to drive Rivian...
Haha a 4th white almost identical to the others has just popped up on Cars and Bids. I think these are all white, basically purchased just to flip, considering it is a no cost paint color.
That stinks that the Rivian has a worse drivers seat. That's one area where I really wanted to have an upgrade in a new vehicle. I hate hard/unsupportive seats.
My pre-price increase of $80K is what I feel the cars value is. Post price-increase it's ~$100K, which is too much.
At the end of the day it's a smaller'ish SUV, with a lot of quality/reliability problems, cheap/crappy glass, a terrible drivers assist system, that has to rely on junk public...
People cross shop vehicles all the time. Especially EV's, and the R1S isn't even that much larger than the Y inside. 99% of R1S buyers aren't going to use more than 6.6" of ground clearance. It'll be In the mall parking lot.
Cost is the #1 factor in a vehicle purchase unless you're wealthy...
Yup. With the recession in 2023 coming, and it's coming no matter what the nay-sayers say, the pool of people willing to pay $100K for EV's is going to dry up real quick.
IMO when you can get a Model Y long range for half the price of a new post-price increase Rivian, this is accelerating...
Ya this is quite the embarasment for a major manufacturer to in 2023 be showing a CGI truck with all sorts of concept car gimmicks as a "reveal".
At least with the cyber truck, something actually drove onstage.
Yikes... ya problem with those receiver winch mounts... anything other than a light trail is going to end up smashing that thing. And it's a catch 22 because a light trail you don't even need a winch.
