Just mostly curiosity at this point. I'll likely go ceramic tint at the end of the day but thought it was an interesting product and just wanted to see if others had experience with it.
I assume they are in business since they emailed me last Friday letting me know it's available now after I had asked about it a couple weeks ago.
Your search revealed the same results as mine - just more questions about it's efficacy.
I'm mostly interested in the ability for it to help maintain a cooler cabin during the summer and a warmer cabin in the winter. I figured the ability for it to make a meaningful impact on range will likely be minimal since battery temp will be the main factor for that.
Has anyone had prior experience with EVInsulate? They just released their product for the R1S. I understand the concept was just hoping for some real world experience from someone who may have done one in a Tesla previously.
EVInsulate R1S
I have been experiencing the same as well. Sometimes it will correct itself after half an hour or so, other times it won't. I just assumed it was a bug within the app since it only began doing it on the most recent version of the app. I'm not worried about it at the moment.
To update on moving ground wire, vibration through firewall is greatly improved. Used to be able to feel it in the brake pedal and that is now almost completely gone.
Just took a look at mine and found the ground was hitting on the suspension tower. Removed bolt (5/16") and bent tab slightly up and twisted locking tab slightly to create clearance.
Side note - was surprised how compliant the bushings were. I guess I'm used to ICE where it needs to be held...
I believe he makes all them by himself out of his house and qa tests all of them himself so I'll give the pass on it taking a bit with a waitlist. I got one when the wait list was about 200 long and I think it took about 5 weeks so not bad overall. I know they are 3d printed so there isn't much...
Oh man, that would have been good to know last night. Ultimately I just turned on camp mode and turned off the interior lights and that seemed to work well for my situation. If camping I'd definitely run the power like you mentioned.
Was able to use our R1S last night to power our freezer and refrigerators during a 6 hour power outtage. Would have been next level to have V2H to help power the AC as it got close to 85 inside but was still happy to at least keep perishables safe.
Same. What I want is for efficiency to be on the left, speed and gear selector on right, and a giant nav map screen in the center. I'm not too interested in what the car thinks is around it unless I'm using cruise control or driver+.
That's what they did to mine as well. It's been 5 months now with no issues so I'd say it's resolved and won't be coming back unless it's from something completely unrelated. I understand the sentiment though since I wrench on cars too and have done just about everything at one point or another...
Update is coming out. Cool features added with quick control icons which are pretty darn useful. The gear guard update just adds the late night stop motion video to the infotainment so you can watch it in the car on the main screen.
UPDATED WITH OFFICIAL INFO...
