As a fellow max-pack orderer, I too am "paying" for the privilege to wait longer. I also have to look for positives like "well, maybe some of the kinks will be worked out". Optimist by necessity these days :)
I thought the same! It also felt a little misguided. My main impressions of the "be careful what you buy" comments:
This isn't a work truck. I think we all know it's aimed at the adventure/outdoorsy crowd and not as a construction tool
It's expensive compared to the bare-bones F-150 truck...
I'm not too worried about the regen aspect but rather the preferred driving styles and experience. I prefer the two pedal approach - perhaps I'm old school, perhaps it makes it easier for me as I switch between cars that still require me to use the brake pedal. But the Porsche engineers are...
I, too, prefer the two pedal systems, so maybe there will be software options down the road. The Taycan has an incredible system (this article does a good job detailing it) and it’d be nice to see something similar from Rivian. I guess we’ll see, but it seems to be a personal preference what...
I knew choosing to live in Costa Mesa all those years ago would pay off! I'm curious to see where, specifically, they're looking to build it. I couldn't tell from the drawing/schematic.
I think I read through most of the posts on this thread and I don't think I saw any consideration of power needed while you're out-and-about camping. E.g., powering the kitchen, lights, other camping gear you might need.
I know this will be heavily dependent on what you might need power for...
I've been seeing some R1Ts around where I live (Southern California), but lately there have been more and more R1S mules around too. I spotted this one while getting lunch. The interior looked finished (and with an ethernet cable sticking out of the dash.) I didn't dare take picture of the...
My guess is that since they're going downhill, they're trailing the brakes. So when the wheel is in the air, it doesn't take much brake pressure to stop a wheel from spinning. It seems the brake lights are also on so that's my guess.
Having seen the black-wrapped truck drive past me in Costa Mesa, CA, I drove to where Google said the Irvine, CA Rivian office is in hopes of finding an R1T.
I couldn't initially find it, but as I was leaving this wrapped truck pulled in and then reversed out and left (see the bright reverse...
