The blind spot camera is a gimmicky throwaway, IMHO. Looking at the dash when turning is not intuitive at all; most drivers use their side mirrors when checking their blind spots.
Noticed a 9-10 mile estimated range reduction since the last update (2024.19.04). There has been no change in my driving habits, from pre-update to post-update. I charge daily to 70%.
The coolant reservoir is located under the top plastic panel on the passenger side of the frunk rear of the washer fluid fill cap. You can carefully pull those panels off to access the coolant tank. I had a small, gradual coolant leak due to (I'm told) a bad seal in the coolant pump and I got an...
I'm curious what your experience was with Trenton(?) I have to schedule a replacement of my coolant pump in Trenton and have been hesitant for fear of the vehicle being stuck there for weeks.
So, what accounts for the difference in the quad-motor 0-60 time between Gen1 (3.0 secs) and Gen2 (2.5 secs)? Is it just software, not the new Rivian motors?
Still no glovebox and that goofy empty space in front of the center console. Excellent improvements for sure, but I would have liked to have seen more front cabin storage.
Probably has to do with some kind of liability. I can't confirm what the Rivian tech told me is a fact; it's just what I was told when I asked him about tire options since my OEM Pirelli's had started to make a lot of noise after 6,000 miles.
I was told by a Rivian tech that the issue with the non-EV version is that there is a difference in how the plys of the tire are manufactured and assembled. The EV version is beefier to prevent the separation of the plys, which could cause a catastrophic blowout.
Agree, but the music/radio pop-out panel on the right of the main display is even more annoying to me. I'm constantly having to swipe it off the screen since it covers part of the map if using the nav screen.
Getting the PA registration and title from Rivian took forever, so I drove mine around for over a year without any inspection stickers. I even had local police stopping at Wawa and checking out the truck when I first got it, and no one even asked or noticed it didn't have a sticker. Now I just...
I did not get the rubber pads. I figured they might get beat up pretty quick, so instead I bought a 3" x 10' roll of rubber to cut into strips for when I needed it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G53WYZX/
It's the exact one I have. It's pretty basic, but the quality is good. It even comes with the hitch tightener, a caution flag, and some reflective stickers that can be applied to the rack. The hitch tightener cinched the rack tube inside the hitch receiver, preventing it from rattling or moving...
I use this hitch mount rack combined with the roof crossbars, but it can also be inverted as a bed extender. Very versatile, and you can't beat the price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BNBRDSSG/
