Not sure why those that are in tech all of sudden are experts at driver assistance gadgetry. I planted a tomato plant, hey that makes me a farmer! Not sure why op has to state he's a Rivian fan either, if my car almost killed me due to some programming bug, oops I meant feature, I could see...
I agree, this is hardly hail. Sometimes good things can go wrong, but the gesture is great. The car would have been fine.
I agree with the op above.., great neighbors are a hard find.
I think the 16 Volts and later had that mechanical linkage. But regardless, yeah I get your point. Too bad GM suspended their development in this system, perhaps they're looking at it again now.
I believe the Volt was similar to the Clarity in that at times there was mechanical linkage between the engine and drivetrain that was used in certain circumstances.
Because public charging really does suck. It was so bad that the government had to step in and provide a lot of funding, even that didn't work out so now the partnerships with Tesla from EV makers. I don't think that will be the panacea either, that's why EV makers such as GM are switching to...
I do a lot of driving, a lot. I wouldn't ever want to take a road trip in an EV, solely due to the charging issues.
When EVs started becoming more popular, there was a lot of fanboyism, it was and still is nauseating. Every issue was meant with aggressive devotion and a lot of ad hominems.
As...
Nothing wrong with super safe index funds, it's a good was to get rich slowly.
My thinking is the stock has a floor under it due to an acquisition probability. Maybe Rivian can pull off a hail mary but an acquisition isn't bad for some.
On a broader term, the froth is coming out of the EV...
The huge huge thing here is decrease costs. Usually there will be compromises with quality too.
I like the R2 also, I wish they started with the SUVs and never had a truck, but that's water under the bridge.
There is just so much competition and making and selling vehicles is very cost...
Ford should discontinue the Mache, it was a novelty when launched but has quality issues and Ford loses too much to justify it continuation.
TSLA has been going nowhere but down since late 21, I think it will take a lot of work and/or time to get momentum going again in the EV space.
The title of your post says it all, you want to be bullish and want to be convinced to be bullish, that's a terrible reason to invest. Then to top it off, you're asking a Rivian fan group, so of course just about everyone here will tell you to buy, they've been saying that since the top.
Not sure why the love affair with this interview, if you can even call it that. It was nothing but RJ describing the vehicle. The questions weren't even in the softball league. Frankly it was just an ad disguised as an "interview".
That said, I think Rivian has a nice product lineup coming...
The vast majority of charging is done at home. I'd prefer it on the driver's side.
After plugging in my phevs about 3000 times over 150k miles, being on the driver's side means I don't have to walk around to plug in, cumulatively wasting a lot of time. I don't want to give up this convenience...
The EV market is getting saturated, that's why Tesla is doing the things they're doing. The 3 and Y y/y growth rate has come down a lot to about 15%.
Personally I wouldn't purchase the R1T, it's not truck enough for me, bed is to small too...then again I'm rural probably unlike most owners...
Much of this depends on the imports, esp BYD, and I guess the tarrifs.
Rivian is more likely to be purchased than going bankrupt. But what happens after it's purchased is anyone's guess.
I think the outlook is dim as a standalone brand after RJ pretty much admitted they will need to go back...
Yeah, but news of RIVN hitting all time lows will greatly more than offset any type of hype Rivian owners are trying to create. Buying floormats and coffee cups isn't going to save Rivian, in fact it will just illustrate how dire things are for them.
This stock has been a total turd for me and...
That's great, but that's not going to appeal to the masses and you need the masses to exist in business. A few here and there that want to unhook and charge every hour or whatever isn't going to make Rivian into some mass seller of EV trucks.
Some say I'm generalizing, yes you have to...
