I went by the Houston location yesterday to see it. Was secretly hoping to see a Rivian there, even though I knew that was not going to be the case haha.
Not shocking. It’s Houston… can’t tell you how long I’ve been waiting for a new under construction restaurant to open near me.
Ironically when I read the comments about Turner I thought it was the Mayor and not the constructions company haha. Ive been told construction permitting is taking way...
Its interesting, but overall I have historically liked the sierra designs better, so I will wait for that one to debut to put in a reservation as a backup to the Rivian. No reservation for me.
I see tie downs in the back cargo area, I know that was a question some had. Also it appears you can see the mechanism to slide the 2nd row seats back and forth. They appear to be all the way back in this animation. Leads me to believe the second row could have a lot more leg room than the R1T...
Yep interesting area for sure, but its next to a rail shipping drop off location. If you look at a satellite view you can see a lot of new cars are stored in the surrounding parking lots before going to dealers. Well... right now one could assume those lots are pretty empty...
Good find on the...
Id love to hear thoughts on ease of getting into the back seat without the door fully open (ie parking spots next to vehicles). All I've seen so far is the door fully open with people getting in.
Great! I must not check the forums enough haha. I was always worried about that part with the angle it was at. That and the front bumper. Rear fenders… fingers crossed the stray gravel bullets avoid it.
Rivian’s installation guide says only up to 6AWG wire is accepted so I’m willing to bet 4AWG either won’t fit or won’t be able to be torqued properly.
Not as sweet as some of these rides, but here is my 2008 Sierra Denali AWD that I bought brand new. The Rivian R1S will replace it. No other fun cars anymore so the Rivian will be my suv, kid hauler, and sport car all in one! Thinking about a folding trailer for those mulch and other dirty hauls...
Take a look at the grab handles in the configurator with the black interior. You should see the yellow there as an accent. Also pictures show the sides of the headrests with the yellow accents.
More of a lurker than a poster on here at the moment, but I’m in Houston. Finally talked my wife into a preorder of an R1T in May this year, but have since switched to a Blue R1S with the 20” AT combo and black interior. Now just to convince her to let us go through with it once the time comes!
USAA only showing an increase of ~$160 every 6 months from my current truck. I have a 2008 AWD Sierra Denali with a 6.2l engine so I’m sure mine is already higher. Not too bad if it holds. Will be interesting to see what Rivian’s insurance rate comes in at. Will have to weigh that vs the...
