Indeed. And Waypoints are free. I don't this is likely to change, as I don't think the hardware has any ability to handle payments. And of course as of today, RAN is no longer free. Though at $0.36/kWh, it is the same as EA with a $7/month Pass+ membership, so a fairly reasonable price.
