I found my guide's response pretty weird. I've purchased a used car in IL and drove it out of the state and had it shipped back the rest of the way years ago. I called the IL SoS and they offer a Drive Away Vehicle Permit that provides temp registration for up to 90 days. Too late in the process...

How did your pickup go? For those that did factory pickup in Normal and live in California (or I guess another state that also charges sales tax on new vehicles), how did you deal with sales tax? My guide said I’d likely have to pay sales tax twice.

Still in General Assembly Did your guide give you an update on the physical check? I'm still in the "General Assembly" stage and was advised late last week that my guide is requesting a physical check for me as well.

Agreed. Just messaged my Guide this morning and I was told that my VIN is next to be "Factory Gated." Edit: Factory Gate happens when the car is finally "built" and match to my reservation. It's the last step before the vehicle leaves the factory. Next step is "In Transit."

I was notified it was in GA on 5/25 so not sure when it actually started production. I'm wondering the same thing; how is it possible that a truck stays on an assembly line for 4+ weeks?
