  1. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

Tesla and R1T owner here. No, I'm not pissed. Just the opposite. If Rivian follows suit, it makes adventuring in remote areas far easier. Tesla is expanding SCs faster that EA, Chargepoint and EVgo combined. There is no worry about SC access.
  2. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

I see it as a win for EVs as Ford customers will have zero range anxiety just like Tesla owners. Thus forward EV adoption. RANs are great but are too sparse. If RJ follows Ford, Rivian can stop RAN deployment, save millions, become profitable sooner and help R1T/R1S owners.
  3. It's coming!!!!

Oh man, am I excited for you. If this is your first EV, more will follow. Consider adding solar and Powerwalls. You'll charge for free and not concern yourself with vampire drain. Oh....and get a set of jack pucks and seat covers.
  4. BMW ChargeForward - Rivian Please Copy this Program

With two EVs, solar panels and Powerwalls vampire drain is a non-issue. I charge both vehicles largely for free. No need to get the power company involved.
  5. I don't feel valued as a customer

I waited 3 years 4 months and 17 days for my R1T. I'm 250 miles from a SC and many ordered after me and got theirs first. Those of us who have been following Rivian daily from Jan of 2019 know the ups and downs of their communication. All I can say is the vehicle was worth the wait. Your urgent...
  6. Tesla to open 20% of US Superchargers to all EVs by end of 2024, qualifying company for share of billions in federal dollars

As a Model Y and R1T owner I don't want Musk going anywhere. Teslas are amazing vehicles. The chargers are ubiquitous and they work. All the haters can hate-on but they will be using Superchargers when they open up. "Normal" company...what like GM or Ford or Toyota??? They are leading no one...
  7. All electric household?

Neighborhood hardware stores...going the way of home milk deliveries and drive-in movies. But keep fighting the good fight, it's futile but noble work. As I said, c'est la vie!
  8. All electric household?

Of course you do and you should. But most people make vehicle purchases based on economic factors, not political ones. The Y is the fourth best selling car in the world. Projected to pass the F150 this year. Many dislike Musk but my Tesla solar panels, PowerWalls, wall charger and Starlink work...
  9. All electric household?

Isn't going from A to B what we all do on most days? No doubt you're a savvy consumer who test drove the Performance Y prior to purchase. Therefore, you knew the ride was mediocre and storage was not to your liking. Perhaps the nimbleness, acceleration, range or charging network won you over...
  10. All electric household?

I have a Y and R1T. I believe your wife is making a decision on based on the personality of Elon Musk, not the vehicle itself. The Y is a terrific EV with the best technology and charging network. If I had to give up one or the other, it would be the R1T.
  11. Truckee CA Rivian Charging Station Now Open

Got the same result (48kW) last Saturday. No one else charging. Took an hour to go from 31% to 70%. During that time three more R1Ts came and charged at 150 to 200kW. Perhaps it's that one stall. Going back on Saturday for the Truckee meet-up. Will try a different stall.
  12. Truckee CA Rivian Charging Station Now Open

I live in Reno and am happy so many chargers are out west but it seems unreasonable to concentrate so heavily in California at the expense of other states. We're all in this together.
  13. Increases in your electricity bills?

I have a 14kWh Tesla solar system and three Powerwalls. We charge the Y and R1T about once a week. Peak winter rate here is $ 0.11/kWh. We charge the vehicles from 10pm to 4am when the rate is $.06/kWh. With Net Metering, our bill each month is $15...the grid hook-up minimum. Effectively the...
