For those lost in the backcountry, Ford had delayed promised adapters from April/May into June after delivering a few thousand in April. Well today the adapter spigot reopened and multiple of the unshipped April adapter recipients are finding notice their official NACS adapters are shipping from...
Mach-E GT owner with an R1S. I have no issues with it, I have a good dealer so accessing service isn’t a problem. If it is only two of us we take the Mach-E, it is about twice as efficient as the R1S if you care about operating costs.
I just have my iPhone mounted with the Open Source EV phone...
Just throwing this out there, why should it be cheap? A carbon-free transportation system doesn’t necessarily align with the carbon-extraction model of the past 300 years.
I don’t pay anything for charging three EVs at home (25kW of solar panels) so while I am price sensitive on trips, no...
About 300 out of 2000 employee were let go. This facility is where Tesla Solar operates, where employees label video for Autopilot/FSD, a power electronics group and the Supercharger manufacturing.
I don’t think they do the NACS adapter manufacturing there, looks an awful like the MagicDock...
Just weird, like this snippet
Which is it? GM says it is still on for spring so I don’t think you should claim they are delayed when GM actually said adapters will be available for purchase later this year. Volvo didn’t comment at all so don’t lump them in and Polestar said this
which might...
Based on the slow Ford and Rivian rollouts I already assumed this to be true but I don’t know that I would consider pcmag.com as an authoritative source. So far the only other news reports I can find are quoting pcmag.com as their source so I’ll wait for someone better with their own reporting...
Only if everyone stops asking and only those that receive an adapter announce its arrival. But there aren’t any since none have shipped since the initial allotment and in the meantime the machinations of some in the past few pages are mind boggling.
Given the uncertainty, either get an adapter...
Anything is possible since Rivian has no real deadlines to meet but would, love to see more R1 owners get one.
But Ford has promised about 5000 in June, two of which are mine. Should Ford disappoint again I would suspect something has gone horribly wrong with the production of adapters and...
Sorry but this is no longer maintained, if you are looking for something similar then check out ElectraFi or another of the server-hosted solutions you can find mentioned here in the forum.
I was referring to personal use, without multiple charging failures which is my usual experience when on the road using DCFC charging.
Commercial use, towing, a string of bad luck with SC connections and other situations that I can’t even imagine are likely to run into the Tesla discount limit.
That is more restrictive but realistically I don’t think I have ever charged five times in a single day so I would sign up if I were looking to use the SC Network.
What it does prevent is widespread sharing a single Tesla account. We have three non-Tesla EVs in the household and would share a...
Even if it applies to five individual SC sessions, that would be 1000 mile days so not much of a limitation unless you are doing a Cannonball Run Challenge.
I thought GM made the decision to drop CarPlay/AA from EVs models. This very recent Ars Technica review of the RST trim says CarPlay is gone
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV’s great range comes at a high cost
and it isn’t the only review to mention it as Autoweek says the same In their...
This is a great plan but fails to address the wider problem of the many others that aren’t enlightened like you or just don’t care. My fear is that charging at an SC will become a race to the bottom and where everyone is left unhappy whenever there is even modest utilization.
