  1. Any "March-April" delivery people contacted?

Congratulations! Could you give an approximate preorder date and configuration of your vehicle? Also, which service center are you the closest to....Dallas, Austin, or Houston? ....Thanks
  2. Anyone else on the fence between Lightning and Rivian R1T?

I'm going with whichever vehicle I can get first. It appears Rivian has the lead now, so my son-in-law is getting my Ford reservation. Next year, when I'm able to compare, it's possible I'll sell the Rivian and get the Ford. Like you, I prefer the smaller size, quad motors and air...
  3. ? RJ's Letter -- Making it Right -- REVERSING THE PRICE CHANGE FOR PREORDER HOLDERS

Speaking for myself, in my former line of business, I knew the only way I could afford anything was by relying on the intelligence of others surrounding me. That's the only thing I was good for, being able to identify those people. I'm grateful for that ability. It served me well.
  4. ? RJ's Letter -- Making it Right -- REVERSING THE PRICE CHANGE FOR PREORDER HOLDERS

I stand by my statement above, but my opinion has increased a little. RJ certainly came through in a big way. My opinion of RJ has improved. He owned his mistake and he apologized. I accept it completely. I'm made whole again and look forward to getting my Rivian. I still have a time...
  5. R1T & R1S Updated Pricing, Configuration, Specs. Dual Motor Now Available

I can only speak for myself, as a 3 yr. preorder holder, so you can understand my disappointment, not outrage. My take is Rivian should have anticipated price increases for the past 3 yrs. (which they probably did), yet they wait until the last minute, after their IPO and before "real...
  6. R1T & R1S Updated Pricing, Configuration, Specs. Dual Motor Now Available

You're exactly right. Rivian has now lost their best form of advertising, "by word of mouth". Remember when Rivian first announced they began production and deliveries to "customers", back in Sept.? It was highly debated here, that employees could be customers too, even though Rivian had not...
  7. R1T & R1S Updated Pricing, Configuration, Specs. Dual Motor Now Available

Thanks very much Carter. I believe I can safely say we're all happy to see some of you getting the original pricing. My comment below is certainly not meant to take away from your joy. It's the way I view Rivian's handling of this situation. I do realize they had the complete right to change...
  8. Any "March-April" delivery people contacted?

Congratulations! Had you been assigned a Guide prior to this call? My phone will only accept calls from my Contact List, otherwise they go straight to Voice Mail. I checked with CS and they told me I would be contacted by email first. I'm guessing you already had a Guide? It seems only...
  9. Any "March-April" delivery people contacted?

It seems everyone being contacted now, for delivery, are the folks that have had Guides for quite some time. Is there anyone that has recent Guide contact, for the first time in this forum, or any other social media forums? Congratulations to those with deliveries in sight.
  10. What does 61 mean? [wrong answers only]

It means there are 38 's left on the wall
  11. What are Rivian investors (DSP) doing in 2022 market

This partial Forbes article (below) was dated Feb 15, 2022, evaluating Rivian's performance through Jan 28, 2022 and making future calculations. It may have been posted earlier. I don't have the background to comment, or accept what was written. It was just interesting, for me, to read. Short...
  12. Ford is starting to schedule Lightnings for production

I have to agree with that....?
  13. Ford is starting to schedule Lightnings for production

Thanks @kizamybute'. I called after I posted to see if there has been any changes, but I really don't think he knows what is going on, or it's being handled differently in Texas. He said there had only been 1 wave and he wasn't allocated any vehicles. He said I was 3rd in line out of 20...
  14. Ford is starting to schedule Lightnings for production

I haven't been contacted in any wave yet. We're supposed to be contacted by email when the waves are over, so I'm guessing they're still continuing. I placed a reservation 5/19/2021, immediately after the debut presentation. At the time, I didn't know you could place an order while it was...
  15. Rivian brings on new manufacturing VP as production ramp-up continues in Normal

My comment is only relevant where multiple vendors are available, in which you can purchase the same, or similar part. You should have more than 1 vendor. If there is only 1 vendor available, you're in potential trouble from the start.
  16. Rivian brings on new manufacturing VP as production ramp-up continues in Normal

"Don't put all your eggs in one basket." Reminds me when there was a drywall and wall insulation shortage years ago. At the time, I only had one vendor each to supply my needs, because their price was always the best. When the shortage began, my vendor allotted a certain amount to each of...
  17. January/Feb delivery windows

....and all these recent posts are the results of having corporate policies, that place employees before Customers. Not a good policy to implement. There are many other incentives, that can entice employees without taking a vehicle away from a customer. A vehicle is basically all Rivian has to...
  18. In 4th year of waiting ... beginning to question if the wait is worth it

?Oh, I agree with everything you just wrote. That's why I said "supposedly" selling them to regular customers. If Rivian is selling to regular customers at a high rate, then there would be no need for prioritizing employees, but like you, I don't believe they are either. Once their testing...
  19. In 4th year of waiting ... beginning to question if the wait is worth it

You and me both. I've been a little salty since Sept and it's only gotten worse. I'll pretty much know where I'm standing by the end of this month.
