Tire warranty is mostly marketing. If you document tire rotations, and wear is even, it is routine to get credit on early worn-out tires when purchasing a new set. Mileage warranties are useful for store credit on next purchase....
Agree. I am perplexed at the tire size options used by Rivian. The road 21s have very limited tire options. Sport 22s only slightly offers more tire choices--still too few. Why Rivian specified these tire sizes is perplexing.
Agree-- get the 20s and change out tires to best suit your needs...
Exactly. I emailed my guide, got a response 1-2 hours later with info I was looking for. I bet they feel like herding cats, trying to pair up R1s to customers. Show 'em some love....
Lucid has leading technology with light/efficient drive units, 900v architecture, range. But software seems to be lacking. To increase EV adoption, we don't need another $90k+ sedan. Had they come out with Gravity SUV first, or a $50 -70k car, I think survival chances would be much higher.
May 2019 Overland Expo in Flagstaff, AZ. My brother was there and watched as a R1T prototype from the event was loaded into a enclosed trailer; presumably for transport back to CA engineering offices. That's when this story was released....
Tony's evil nephew/intern inadvertently updated file...
Can't help with specifics, but I suggest (what you probably already know)-- call/email private lots near the airport with shuttle service, find out if they have covered parking and 120v outlet accessible. If you're planning on leaving your R1S for more than a week, I would plug it in, if at all...
Disagree. Pirelli says on their website, and is pretty much common knowledge and accepted best practice: "...tires rotated every 5,000 to 7,000 miles..."
For reference, I have PIrelli P ZERO ALL SEASON PLUS/ELECT on my Tesla. New depth: 10/32. After 6,300 miles and one rotation at 5k, tread...
While I can't comment on estimated deliveries for other dual motor reservation holders, your May - June estimated delivery of the dual motor variant is good news.
I'm currently configured for R1T quad motor, but would/will switch to either R1T/S dual motor if I can get it after a reasonable...
I predict/ guess if Q2 or Q3 earnings call shows promise of 60k annual production, stock could recover towards $20. If not, $7 - 10 range.
The other variable is conversion rate of deposits to actual sales. Again, lots of headwinds. I was surprised as a "last day to sign binding sales agreement...
If you can wait for the dual motor Rivian R1T, looks like that will be a compelling truck with more efficient in-house motors and additional range. Plus that's your lead, so you know that's what you really want!
My perspective is biased against the Ford, since the Lightning is a fundamental...
@Mikedor that's cool your kids had a say in color choice. Might as well, could be their car(s) in the future! Canyon Red looks really good out on the open road.
This latest interpretation of the IRS rules might put additional downward pressure on the resale/flip market. Binding sales agreement signed before August 16, 2022 --> eligible for up to $7,500 federal tax credit.
Lots of L2 charging opportunities when you get to the ski hill. Presidents holiday weekend I saw five R1Ts, two in Winter Park, CO (1 with CA plates) and one on the mountain corridor of i70 with IL plates. If you take the Rivian, watch out for gravel on the roads and potential for paint/glass...
