You can use the 120v ALL the time if you turn it on. It will stay on 24/7 if you leave it on. Mine is on all the time and seems to have no noticeable affect on the battery overnight.

If I leave the 120v inverter on all the time the 12v stays on too. I will need to 100% confirm that the 12v goes off when the truck "sleeps". I am thinking it does.
