Ok, I'll bite...what am I supposed to see here? I just went back and looked at the video again and I am not sure what I am supposed to see at 0:17. Yes, it does look like your screen capture above but what am I missing?
For better or worse, we take our Model Y through the conveyor belt car wash (one where you stay in the car) and you put the car in Neutral (as @Greenwater mentioned earlier in this post) by pulling 1/2 way down on the shifter stalk. Since you aren't getting out of the car it doesn't put itself...
What about the possibility of using the onboard air compressor for an Air Ratchet Wrench? You could throw one in with the spare and then there is no concern about keeping your 18V batteries charged. But, I guess it depends on the capacity of the compressor since they say you need 4-5 CFM @ 90PSI...
SoCal Rob,
We have both a Tesla Model Y and a GMC Yukon XL Denali and I regularly drive both (Although the Model Y is really my wife's car). The Model Y has solid regen braking and will bring the car to a full stop when in "standard" regen setting. (As @ajdelange mentioned in a previous...
With the active suspension, wouldn't we expect the Rivian to sit more level when accelerating like that? It is really sitting way back on the rear wheels! I do understand that it has 800+HP and I certainly don't know much about suspension or how a heavy SUV would really react to that kind of power.
Wait a minute! How did they do that? I know editing video isn't very hard, but this looks so natural and the hole was certainly there in the first video!
Will the Chilewich floor mats be durable like Weathertech? I know they aren't rubber, but I assume if Rivian is putting them in their trucks, they will hold up pretty well. i.e. do we need Weathertech?
I love the idea of a mobile service vehicle or taking my vehicle into a shop if something major is needed, but what happens when I am in a city without any physical service center? I live in Richmond Virginia and I believe the closest show room, and I’m guessing service location, will be...
That is a pretty impressive design feature and really shows the innovative thinking going on in Normal! So much better than my wife’s Model Y that has a fixed bar similar to what was initially on the the R1S. Bravo Rivian! (And that was amazing that he noticed that in the video)
There is some great stuff here! You can see the 21" wheels next to the 22" wheels. Nice buckles on back of front seats. (like the ones we all want on the side pockets.) Also, seats look really flat!
Anyone know what the boxes are on both sides at the back? You can see them at 0:06 or, from the...
R1S 3rd Row Leg Room:
I just talked with CS and they let me know that the R1S's
"third row legroom is spacious, even for someone who is about 6 foot tall like me! The legroom measurement for the third row in the R1S is 832 mm. "
So that is 32 3/4" for those not into measuring things in mm...
Ok who is good at Geometry? If we know that the angle is 3deg and if the height of the seat back is 22", how high would the top of the seat back be when folded down?
Someone posted recently (within the past few days) that CS said the 3rd row seats are fixed and not removable FYI. (I can't remember who posted it or on which thread)
I do take a little comfort in the fact that CS said "We can't wait to get you in your R1S before the end of this year" So, while August are the first deliveries, I would be pretty happy to have it by 12/31!
